where was this concert and

where was this concert and

why will you get kicked off if you post pix?

Who plays guitar on Luke Bryan's hit? ('cause it's rippin')

I found the venue (ballpark) online but I can't find the guitarist.

Who plays guitar on the 'Rain is a Good Thing' track... is it Luke?

I'll bet that Eddie Van Halen digs Brad Paisley's Tele ;)

hey- and don't forget:

Roy Buchanan was a huge inspiration for Jeff Beck.
If you haven't listened to country lately you're missing out.

Charlie Daniels plays free tonight at Taste of Syracuse in the middle of downtown tonight. I'm not a country fan per se, but I love certain old school "country" artists. Merle, Johnny Cash, Jerry Jeff Walker, Hank Jr, Charlie Daniels, to name a few as it transitions over into Southern Rock which I LOVE. Skynard, Outlaws, Hatchet etc.

If anyone's up for a road trip it might be an opportunity not to be missed. Tons of food and drink and free music from everyone's favorite long haired country boy.

Personally I'm off to a Bachelor party that starts at 4 (ugh) til whenever catered by Dinosaur. THEN I have to be presentable at 10 am for my daughter's Christening. Thank God for God Parents, cause this real parent is going to be too hungover to renounce Satan after partying with him all night.

......I just hope we can find Doug Doug Doug a Dougie Doug Doug in the morning.....

I saw Charlie Daniels in Rochester back in the '80's and it was easily one of the best concerts ever- EVERYBODY was dancing and bopping.
(I've seen a LOT of concerts/artists over the years.)
If you like Skynyrd, Hatchet, etc. you'll like modern country music.

I've tried Gary, Oh how I've tried. Once in a while I'll find a song or an artist I like, but I generally avoid the genre as a whole. It's just not my thing. Just like the Grateful Dead. I get that people love it, I just don't. But at least I can say I tried.

Country is comparable to rap in this way IME: Just as there are a million guys who rap about guns, cash, rims, ho's there are a million guys who sing about pick up trucks, and drinking while they're lonesome.

But in the menushia there is gold to be found. You just gotta put your time in.

Country?!

Ahhhhh!
*runs down to the highway to jump in front of a speeding car*

OH and you don't know what MUSIC really is until you date/engage/about to marry a Music Major...lol. Well as I'm blabbing on, I guess I do watch Taylor Swift, I mean LISTEN to her. She's sooo perty...lol.

Gary I dont know who plays guitar for him but it was awsome! Years ago I saw Garth Brooks when he was in the b-low, best concert ever! I listen to everything.

Cully, If I would have know I would have drove out there to catch that for sure!

"We've got both kinds of music: County AND Western!"

I'm with Cully on some of the older country artists: Willie, Johnny Cash, etc.

I think I'd rather gouge my own eyes out than listen to an hour of 92.5 WBEE.

Ironically, I absolutely ADORE Bluegrass, and could listen to it all day long.

Go figure.

What does your fiance do? Does she go to Eastman?

Sorry about the mini-thread-jack.

BTW... so-called "serious" musicians can like country/pop too - it's just in a different category. Like..... I'm sure there are chefs out there that can appreciate fried chicken :)

Not so much Eastman. If she did, I sure would not be living in CNY. I'd take the money and live closer to the ocean. She's up at SU, plays every woodwind instrument and knows percussion pretty well. She's changing to Psych in the Fall. You can't make money off of a music degree these days....lol. Yeah, musicians like all music. Just get's annoying when I have to look for a time signature change and have to look at music on how it's written compared to old symphonic ways. Booooooring!

even if you dont like country music...........listen to "IN COLOR" by JAMEY JOHNSON.......you'll love the song......in my opinion one of the best written songs ive ever heard! taylor swift is a great song writer, but she should just stick to writting songs, because she may be one of the worst singers in country music. just my opinon.......oh yeah check out the new song by jarrod niemen....lover,lover. if it dont get ya toes a tappin....you have a broken foot

"Alcohol"
I can make anybody pretty
I can make you believe any lie
I can make you pick a fight
With somebody twice your size

I been known to cause a few break ups
I been known to cause a few births
I can make you new friends
Or get you fired from Work

And since the day I left Milwaukee
Lynchburg and Bordeaux France
Been making the bars lots of big money
And helping white people dance
I got you in trouble in high school
But college, now that was a ball
You had some of the best times
You'll never remember with me
Alcohol
Alcohol

I got blamed at your wedding reception
For your best man's embarrassing speech
And also for those
Naked pictures of you at the beach

I've influenced kings and world leaders
I helped Hemmingway write like he did
And I'll bet you a drink or two that I can make you
Put that lampshade on your head

'Cause since the day I left Milwaukee
Lynchburg and Bordeaux France
Been making a fool out of folks just like you
And helping white people dance
I'm medicine and I am poison
I can help you up or make you fall
You had some of the best times
You'll never remember with me
Alcohol
