other macro besides cheato??

im looking to add another type of macro algea to my fuge.. ive got the cheato covered thanks to loyalrogue but like i said id like to add another type..any suggestions??? what does every one else use?? and wheres a good place to get it

I just cliped my fuge- full of both mostly got rid of 95% of my culerpa.
Check out jawz I believe last time I look at the main setup they had a mix of both in one of their fuges. I believe 5 bucks.

IMO I'd stay away from the caulerpa.

Grows TOO fast, roots into everything, goes asexual and releases toxins back into your water. IF you want to constantly watch it and trim it then go for it.

Too high of a maintenance algae for my liking.

What are you trying to accomplish with "another" type of macro?

well ATM im running skimmerless and im looking for additional nutrient export ... any other suggestions??

A lot of us old school guys used various species of macroalgae before cheato became popular.

As far as fast growing, that is called nutrient export â€"œ a good thing.

With a mixed bed approach, the species most suited to your particular chemistry will predominate.

i primarly use grape, due to it growing really fast, IMO i think it removes nutrients much faster thany many of the others, but if u dont feed it it will go sexual, twice a month ill go in and just break it apart IMO it keeps it going, every other month i prune about half of it. i feed very heavy mosthly home made food, but it will go sexual if it dosent have as nutrients, cheato is much safer IMO
