Our 250g Deltec

Added a Red-stripe Anthias and 4 medium sized Addis, had a lot of problems with the Addis, 3 of these dying very suddenly. We are very stringent with quarantine (10 weeks per fish) so the cause perplexed us. Had a biopsy of one Addis carried out by Edinburgh University vet school - fish was riddled with all kinds of parasites including its heart and brain. Anyways one of the original medium sized Addis is still with us.

Tank had taken on a dirty appearance and with no tank backing the colours of the fish weren't being displayed to their full potential. $160 worth of acrylic later and the tank has been transformed, to our eyes anyway.

Tank as it stands today, added three small Addis to join larger one - this didn't go too well either and tension ensued, had to return one to the lfs, have another in QT now, with the most dominant small Addis sharing the main tank with the larger. This small Addis is more dominant than its other sibling despite being a bit smaller. We may reverse this and give the dominant small Addis a spell in solitary to see if things change.

Other additions include a Sunrise dotty to add to our Orchid, and also an Iridis Wrasse to maintain the Red Sea theme.

What made you change your mind on the Naso?

Some really nice fish...I dig the red-stripe anthias a lot.

There's some reefers over here that have kept them long term in 5x2x2's and similar, in the end couldn't resist, i could never have predicted in a tank mainly of butterflies that the most peaceful fish would be a tang:) - he really is a darling...

You have some beautiful fish there! The butterflies are very cool!!!

Thanks Bax, they have given us more than a few problems but definitely worth it.

What are the two additions to your pendant here?

Simply 12 inch reflectors for starter tubes - makes an amazing difference...

Haven't posted for a while so quick update: our regal has went to the big aquarium in the sky and been trying for 8 months to find a Indo/RS Regal, always seemed to be gray chested so started thinking about asfurs. Found a really good specimen, bought it and then a regal turned up the next week!!

Anyways, both now in Qt after being coppered (asfur had whitespot):

Your setup looks beautiful.
I'm seeing quite a bit of algae on those rocks - any ideas why that is?
You're using RO/DI for your top off, right?
