Thank you!

Stunning m8!

thank you, thank you!

I really like the colors of that vega! Lookin great man time for coral :D
Thanks, they were edited slightly, but only to try and get the real color back into the photo. Shooting LED's isn't easy for me. But i've been happy with the Vega's. I need to play with them more, but the controller is not user friendly, i'm waiting for the director software.

What is there in the bottom right of that last picture?

Keen eye Worm!! That would be a large conch shell. I kept it separate in one corner, it has a large colony on xenia on it, this should allow easy fragging and control.

The other corner has a smaller conch shell with some pulsing xenia on it.

Here is a photo of what you spotted

I thought I saw something nice there... LOL.. The color from the top view vs the side view sparked my interest quick. There is also a good reflection in the first picture.

Thanks!

Good choice and layout so far... Next?

well today i installed and programmed the auto top off with the apex. This weekend I will get my dosing pump all programmed for Kh, Ca & Mg. I will also set up my BRS dual reactor.

With regards to inhabitants i'm waiting on new fish for a few weeks. Early June i am in Florida (Orlando & Keys) for vacation, hoping to pick something up on the drive home, so keeping the quarantine empty until then, i'm hoping to find a Copperband Butterfly in FL, no local stores here will sell them due to their difficulty.

My main objective is to get the tank as stable as possible and complete as possible so the Tank Sitter has an easy job while watching the tank. Just feed and keep the top off tank full. I will monitor everything via the Apex iphone app while away.

Have you thought of a web cam for it yet...

Think of it this way... it is much easier to say; 'go grab the camera and show me what you are talking about' than it is for... "Humm it's white"

hahaha....

I had a friend over and we were doing some tank work keeping up on the GHA. One of the snails let out a stream that spread to about 6x6 square inches before you could see through it... It scared him...

Of course I ended up having to explain what his hand just got hit by. HAHAHAHA

Actually I have! It's not been on the top of my list but its something I want to add to the apex, along with the leak detection system.

My Mum will be caring for the tank during my absence, she's cared for my old 120 as it was first set up in her house. I know it'll be in good hands, but I just love this apex, because it can just give me that extra piece of mind.

Yeah I have had my apex for a while. I did not even set it up on my 120. I had it about 6months before I got my 180.

So Once I started the 180 build I took the apex out and started to tinker with it and get it settled in. I was going to use it on the 120, but never got around to it. And I am glad I didn't as it would have slowed the 180 build down.

I like the history of seeing trends in it too!

small update.

I have discovered the tile ledge is wonderful for complete tests on water parameters.

A delivery arrived yesterday from BRS so I was able to install the reactor and set up the dosing pump today. I also completed the manifold.

I picked up some electrical chord organizers from Home Depot in the attempt to neaten up the hanging cable ad Vega power cables.

Very nice. I still have not set up my dossers. Maybe I should get off my butt and do it this weekend. ??

minature fish room!

minature fish room!

So now the display tank is set up, it was time to move the quarantine out of the living room. It was a eye-sore where is was. Just a few feet away from the display is a downstairs 1/2 bathroom which is never used, it was currently being used for feeding of the cat and his litter tray (the dogs absolutely love eating his food......and his poop) so a gate is kept in the doorway to stop them from entering.

It's the perfect fit for the quarantine tank and all additives and supplies. I moved it over today, its currently empty awaiting a new addition some time soon.

It's nothing special, but it's all the space I have! There is little foot traffic here and very quiet. Should be perfect for new additions to acclimate.

And hey, the toilets still just about usable......sideways.

I know the feeling, the last set of pics were taken with my iphone, it can more often than not, take better photos under the LED's than my SLR. I didn't feel like fussing with the SLR today. But the Blues of LED's are a nightmare to capture!

I will tomorrow when they both open up more.
