owenspackmans 180 Reef upgrade build.

just read your whole thread. your stand is amazing might be stealing the idea of putting tile on the top. sorry to hear about the tangs having ich and having to go fallow been there and it sucks. i think you have everyone subscribe to your thread going to HD to buy tint. lol

Why thank you! I'm glad someone is still reading the thread beside the regular contributors, I had started to wonder!

I'm glad you like the stand, I can't take credit for the design, I link the thread earlier on in the build where I saw the idea. I'm really happy with the stand, the tile is amazing and really works great for cleaning, water tests and viewing of the tank. Learn from my mistakes if you use a similar design and feel free to ask any questions if you have them!

Very nice. I should have done that years ago when it was still up stairs.

That is one reason I made a dedicated fish room in the basement. 100% light control 24/7.

You lucked out being able to change the craft room to the fish room! especially for one that has no windows!

Someone in my thread asked me if I was going to do the same thing. Rather they suggested the idea to me. So it looks like I will be heading to the HD soon. Cool idea.

The same user asked me the question earlier in my thread, i had dismissed it at the time, due to not thinking it would have an impact, but, the lighting did. Still getting used to thinking its night time when its daylight outside!

That film has quite the impact....

It does! It actually made taking photos of the tank slightly harder, that natural daylight helped the camera if i could avoid the reflections on the glass. But viewing the tank 24-7 looks wonderful as the sunlight can no longer washout the LED's.

So there are no real updates with the set up. The fish are still all in quarantine, 3 weeks in now.

I picked up some pieces from the WWC online sale. Here, got the Purple Palys and the Toxic Pie Chalice were snagged for 1cent each.

Yes! .01c each for the toxic pie chalice and purple Palys! The Acro was the most expensive at $50, the monti $25 and the others $10-15.

Owen:

Just got back from the keys....hit some of the best spots on the northern half....

WWC: Those are great corals.....I visit WWC when I am in Orlando and have never seen any of the corals you purchased.... Special sale or do I have bad timing?

Glad you enjoyed the Keys! Get any snorkeling in?

I have visited WWC once, they have a great selection. This was purchased on their online 6th Anniversary sale that was held on another forum. They had over 700 frags for sale, so i imagine they increased their inventory for the event.

Here is a little update. took some non-macro photos today, the new frags arrived happy and healthy from WWC.

My other Acro's, Milli's and Birdsnest are really seeing great growth that can be seen on almost a daily basis.
