Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Having been keep reefs since the 1980's. The first thing I removed was the baskets. They are just not worth it to much up keep. I put a drop 1.2 Santa Monica algae scrubber in for the "fuge" part. I put the Tunze skimmer in the left overflow chamber.
The pump is such a tight fit in he center chamber there is no room for anything You can place ceramic balls down in the very bottom chamber.

Hey guys my 40g fusion is just over 1 year old and its finally in its stride felt like it to forever to get to this stage. Running BB though with out any mechanical filtration any more including no filter socks or a skimmer but i do run phosgaurd time to time. All i do is dose 2 part (sometimes ad mg), feed fish and water change aiming for 2.5-5ppm on no3 and 7 alk and 420 on cal. Took a while to get to this point of balancing fish load and biological filtration with sponges/feather dusters and other microfauna living on the rocks and in the back chamber.

There quite a bit of different corals in this 40g, been tring to make them all help hasn't been easy. Every mushroom/anemone burns just any anything they touch. Pulled a few rocks out already and scrubbed some mushrooms off. Has a lot more to do :(

Thanks guys. I've gone ahead and ordered the Tunze 9004. Am looking at also buying a ATO system. Any recommendations? Also will my Ocean Revive T247 be alright and my Koralia 250 power head be sufficient? I have no idea what I am putting in the tank since I'm new to the hobby, so most likely noobie corals and some clown fish. Hoping to get an anonome one day down the line. Any other stuff I will need?

Im running the Smart ATO and micro smart ato on my other IM 40. Boyh very affordable and took under 10 minutes to setup. I havent had any issues with either. The only thing I dont really like about the micro smart ato is the magnet used to hold the return line. The regular smart ato come with a bracket you screw on the back which holds the return line in place. Havent had any issues with the magnet but like the bracket much better.

Did you get it to fit underneath the IM 40 stand or are you keeping it somewhere else? Are those size tanks readily available at pet stores?

I am considering either the IM 40 or the JBJ 45 I understand that this is the IM 40 club but I'm sure that most of you considered the JBJ before choosing your tank?
So my question is why did you end up going with your tank over the JBJ or similar offerings?

Has anyone updated the stock pump? If yes what fits in the chamber? I feel I do not have enough water flow and I am running the stock pump with 2 Jebao wp10's.
