Finally cycling my tank and trying to focus on my lighting schedule and settings. Anyone here use an AI Hydra 52 HD, that can help me out with settings and timing. I'll mostly have Soft/LPS, with some SPS.

Hellon fellow reefers. I just wanted to share my tank build and progress. Been in the hobby for almost 3months now. And everyday is a leaening experience. Comments and suggestioms are highly appreciated.

Innovative marine nuvo fusion 40
Spim stream
Kessil 360 with spectral controller and goose neck
Eheim +2000 return pump
Stock media basket filter floss on the top and pond matrix mid and bottom
IM ghost skimmer midsize
IM reactor running seachem's seagel
Hydor ATO
Jebao rw4 (still deciding on mp10 or gyre130)

Diatom went away after a week

My skimmer has broken in and has been skimming really well. it's dead silent. I didnt know how to tune it. But after sometime i finally been able to skim really dry. The photo here is skimming wet.

Finally got my flame angel he's awesome. He instantly claim the tank as his but the scopas keeps him in check.

The beauty of it is that our water's ph here in the philippines is at 8.3 i didnt have to add any ph buffer. Usong ro/di and reef crystal I tested everything, ph alk ca mg and everything was perfect i dont need to dose anything at all. Except my weekly water change to restore ions alk and ca. Pretty stable huh? Also, corals are pretty darn cheap everything you see here are P150 or $3 each. Tell me what you think and any suggestions for my tank. happy reefing

Great tanks! I have enjoyed my IM40 for about 2.5 years now. Great tank. The time to upgrade has some, currently working on a reefer 425XL build!

Anyone here using tunze 9004? How's your skimmer? Im using im ghost midsize and im not really happy with the skimmate im producing. Im getting a yellow-dark green skimmate but i just couldnt tune it to skim dry. I have the skimmer cup really high and yet still skimming on the wet side. Planning on switching into tunze 9004 but it'll sacrifice 1media basket. Is it worth it? Or is it because im40 is a small tank and doesnt really produce alot of waste?

Here is a current FTS. I am considering adding a second MP10 to the tank, but wondering if this is overkill. I want to try and get more random turbulent flow. I currently have my MP10 set at reefcrest mode. Any suggestions?

Anyone using tunze9004? How do you mount it? Iv read that it fits in the first chamber but do you mount it sideways or facing the overflow? My concern is iv upgraded my return pump to eheim +200 and i think if i mount tunze9004 sideways in the first chamber is that the flow is too fast and the crap would bypass the skimmer. Also, considering tunze9002 but i dont knoe if it would fit the first chamber.

Thunder I would be careful with a yellow tang in a tank that small. With not enough swim room mixed with other fish it can really stress the tang out and cause ick. YT prefer a tank of at least 75 gallons

Psyched to see the new tank - you have a build thread? I'm waiting on a 90 G Reefsavvy myself but will keep my IM40. I have a special idea in mind for it.

I use the 9004 and it has been great. I also have a Kessil - similar setup to yours. I haven't had much luck with acros under the kessil. Please let me know if your stay colored up and healthy. Mine bleached or browned out unfortunately.

Mine too they bleached out but since im running kessils at lower settings my sps are starting to bounce back. Some has gain color

Didnyou mount your tunze 9004 sideways in the firat chamber? Wouldnt the crap just bypass it since its not facing the overflow?

It will only mount side ways. and it works just fine that way

Pulled the trigger and picked up another MP10wQD. Just waiting for it to get in, but now I'm torn between getting a Reeflink or a WXM. For now I'll run one on Reefcrest at 75% and the other at 25% on lagoon. Going to start dosing Kalk as well. Here's a current FTS.
