Everything I've read says it fits in the second chamber in. Either side I'm assuming.

I had mine in the first chamber... not sure why I didn't put it in the second one. [emoji848]Someone that actually has it in the second chamber please chime in!

Looks like based on demensions...first chamber is the only one it fits in. Hmm...that may change my choice. I want to run one sock and one media rack. So the tunze would screw that up.

Yea from all my research, first is the only chamber it could fit in. I would check for you if I still had my 40. Just didn't want you to get too excited about the tunze then get let down, because it won't fit in the chamber u want. On that note, the tunze is a beast. I would say it's on par with my Aquamaxx HOB-1. Good luck with your decision.

Probably overkill but I like running both. The Tunze will only fit in the outer chambers so you do have to sacrifice a media basket.

That kills it for me. Ghost it will be. If rather skim lighter and have the flexibility to run different medias without a bunch of reactors then to not have that ability for a skimmer. Water changes are part of my regimen anyway. And I tend to run a lower bioload anyway.

Just called Marine Depot. They told me it either fits in the first chamber or the middle chamber. If you put it in the middle, you can only use one return. The guy at MD said it's a real PITA. I don't know for sure. I do know that I'll be keeping and using my Ghost skimmer instead of swapping it out for the Tunze.

Has anyone tried breaking it in in a separate container? Bucket with some water and live rock for a couple weeks seems like it would get the job done. All skimmers have a break in but this seems like the only major complaint.

Stock filter socks or InTank/custom Caddy from IM? If the latter, what are you running in them? Purigen and chemipure? In one or both?

I'm running a combo. Sock and caddy, when I get the caddy that is. In it will most likely be chemi pure and some zeolite or something similar. As well as a sponge just for particulates.

I have bought 2 custom caddies. Haven't started using them yet. Was thinking of using both of them. Not sure. I also bought the mini reactor and RowaPhos.

I'll be getting mine soon. Spent a lot at reefapalooza so I have to recoup lol.

LOL. I hear ya!! While I was waiting for ONE good stand to come for my tank, I purchased as much as I could knowing what a small fortune it was going to cost for everything.

I got around to straightening up all my plugs in my tank stand. Gonna try to find a better spot for the ones hanging down next. Don't like them where they are. Also added in some motion detector lights. Definitely helps.

Is anyone doing a QT? if so what size are you using? or are you doing any dipping? Been doing a bunch of research and it appears everyone has one, just wasnt sure I wanted to add that on. My gear is all at store will start stand build this week. So I to should have pitcures of build to share soon.

For anyone interested in keeping SPS or considering an ULNS the IM reactor works really well with the zeovit system. It's very effective at lowering nutrients to keep sensitive corals and improve color.
