Hey guys. So I stumbled across a used Apex JR with PH probe for $135. Should I pull the trigger?

I really just want it as a failsafe for the heater and to monitor the PH and maybe control dosing pumps in the future

I figured $ and coral go hand in hand..I do not have a facebook or any social media...I am old school at that. The people I want to talk to are in my phone!
I would like to pick up a purple hammer coral..really like those. Guess the joys of having a tank crash is you get to build a fish and coral list!
Think if you are going to be running a lot controlled by the apex. The JR can only connect 4 modules. If you think you won't need more than 4 modules go for it. I just went with the full apex so I knew I wouldn't have to upgrade
Thinking of joining the fusion/apex club. Thinking of going with:
Radion XR15W
Vortech QuietDrive MP10 (x2?)
tbd nano skimmer
heater
ato
If I go with an Apex Jr, which items would I want to run through it? What would I be lacking by not going with the full Apex?
Also can someone help me clarify if I want the "w" denominated VorTech pump(s) or not? Not sure I fully understand the difference. How would the operation be different with the Apex?
you could power the ecotech stuff off of a normal outlet and control them wirelessly with the wxm module. You want the W version pumps to do this.
One WXM will control up to 11 Ecotech wireless products.
Apex by itself will provide on off functionality but shines through when you use the WXM module with Ecotech products.
If you just used a Jr you could still have control of things like heaters, ato, skimmer, and main pump, but 4 outlets are it. Anything and everything else would have to be manually controlled, or able to connect to the WXM (ecotech stuff)
This is why I usually recommend to get the full Apex. Six months from now, you'll want to do more, but be at the end of the Jr capability.
I keep seeing a light-mounting brace in recent photos and am wondering if it's something that comes with the Radion or if it's a separate accessory.
+1 I listened to Reduck and I do not regret it. The full apex comes with a ph, if you went with the jr you would have to get one...so add on $150 or so there. The full apex uses is 8 outlets for its energy bar vs the 4 that the JR uses. If you want to plug in more than 4 pieces of equipment, you will need to add another energy bar...either $115 for 4 or $160 for 8... You see where I am going here. If you want to run wxm for your ecotech products, you have already used up one of the modules so you have 3 left... JR says 5, but one of the modules is the display..
Since I have the full apex and both my wp10 es are w (wireless), I plug the pumps into another power strip. I still have full control over them since I am running wxm. I would spend the extra money and get the w es. TB aquatics have them for $195 new... cant beat it.
For skimmer I would go with the Tunze 9004 or the aquamaxx.. Though I really like the clean look and like the skimmer hidden.. you can see by the pics.
Hope that helps
Bizacon & Reduck, thanks! Huge help!

If you guys want to run a reactor for gfo or carbon, I am trying to unload mine over in the classifieds for $70 shipped. I am running cheato now and dont want to run both.
While I'm at it should I upgrade with the new Quiet Drive Vortechs too?Not a problem sir.. As Reduck says, its very easy to spend other people's money... on this I would spend the extra sugar and get the full apex. Have not regretted it.
