Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Haha. I got an email from them and I was like " I bet reduck is going to going"

I am going to send in my tunze pump. Get that squared away. Going to test all my parameters this morning to see where things are at. Been in Boston last couple days.

I was actually just going to drop off an apex probe holder that I promised Mark! It's just too big for our sump. I thought about sawing it down but it's just not worth it.

Ended up spending an hour drooling over his new stock...and of course buying some....

So my dos seems to be missing doses. Apparently I'm not the only one with this issue. Posted it over on their forum. Hopefully it's as simple as a firmware update....

Are you talking inside the water? Or above the chamber? You can't (well I wouldn't as I'm sure most others will agree) stick those inside the water cause for one you never know what can leach off of them and #2 they say they are water proof but to what degree? I don't believe they are submersible and even if they were a salt water environment will most likely kill them quickly and then kill the tank.

I've had similar ones for inside my stand and once you cut them there is copper exposed so that alone is a major no no.. Basically nothing inside the tank that's not designed for the tank. There's even pumps sold for fish ranks that rust in out tanks so that should tell you something =)..

I plan to have the cheo in the top chamber with the light above it. The light will not be submersed, we have liked 2-2 1/2" space, so I'll stick it as high as possible. Trying to make it look clean and not too tacky. Im still researching since it's an idea 😁

Here's one I just took. Play find the goby....

I can't find him..is he floating? :)

Tank looks good.. You should get a jawfish ( don't think you can now with the goby) have a pretty decent sand bed

That's because he's a sailfin blennie. Not a goby. Duh me..he was hiding in the right hand rock. It's his new fav spot. I spent time rearranging corals instead of installing the qd drivers. Tomorrow is another day...
I think I won the sand bed and gha battle..only a tiny bit remains.

Well put the under cabinet lighting in and started mounting the stuff underneath..

Also sold off some of my old stuff I had been meaning to sell and have a bit more to spend. I'm debating upgrading the ReefRadiance led and getting the xr30 pro..

Either that or a laser cutter. (I know, 2 completely different things lol) but just think of all the cool stuff I could make with a laser cutter. Then my ability to make stuff would be complete, a 3D printer, CNC machine and a laser cutter. Lol

Just trying to decide which would be a better investment (or which one would be less of a waste of money)

And here is the lighting done and mounted. There is lighting on both top sides as well as under the left shelf to light up where ATO will be.

Laser cutter would be my choice! At least you can make coin with it. The tank stuff is a money pit.

The rr led is pretty good, but the radion is better. Especially the pro.

Well thanks Reduck, you didn't help my decision at all.. Lol

And Yea, it's neat for now, until I get the rest of the wiring done, then it'll look like a rats nest. Gonna have 3 float switches down there, 1 in each ato/doser for low levels.
Gonna put a backup float switch in the tank that will turn off tunze if water level is too high. I and since I'll be running Kalk in ato, the pH will also shut off the ATO pump if needed.

I still have $600 that im not spending, $100 for fish and $500 for coral

Glad I could help! LOL
I'd def go for the Radion pro. As soon as ecotech gets the kits in, mine will get upgraded to that level. Depending on if you can wait, I have a feeling there will soon be a gen4...

I'm all for the rats nest look...:eek2:

Yea I'm still not sure about the radion. It would be nice, but gotta spend $750 on the light and another $130 on the control module. And I have heard mixed things about it.

The amount of control on the Radion is nice, it's similar to the Hydra I had a while back where you can control the exact spectrum, etc. Just not sure if it's worth almost $900 just for a little more control

It's hard to get honest opinions between Radion and ReefRadiance/ReefBreeders. Too many fanboys on either side saying one is better than the other, etc.

I had both. I had a lumentek 160. Rick makes a nice led. I had zero issues with it, except the physical size. My corals grew. The Radion is just plain better. If you are a control freak, it's the only way to go. It's not a little more control, it's a lot more control once you add the wxm module or reef link, or just PC.

Any growth/PE/coloration differences between the two?

I believe the Radion has a lot cleaner color, which translates to better coloration of the corals and growth. The daylight setting on the rr was limited too. I couldn't tweak the unneeded LEDs off or adjust the color temp. It was limited to white, blue and moons. It could be different now.

I will still admit I like the color mix of the Kessil better though. I am hoping the gen3 pro update will close that gap.
