Wish I could say the same about Kenya Tree. That thing keeps sending out arms and its everywhere..
Be careful, this was mine.

I might have to pick one up... i like the color.
one of the first "coral" in my very first tank was a kenya tree.... took over everything!!
it is quite nice. The Mrs even pointed it out last time we were there. He has frags and small colonies. I would suggest a frag as it will take off quickly.
The KT in my tank is over 3 year old. It was one of the first corals I bought for my JBJ12G cube. I don't let it go crazy. Every time I do a WC I prune it and its offshoots.
I should frag it and trade it off...They are so hardy, I'll bet if I threw it in a baggie in the regular mail it would live..
Ha...I dont want it
But if you can pick that frag and ultimate and drive it to me that would be great.
if I was coming up your way to a meeting I'd consider it..but not in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know next time I'm heading to Valhalla..
What is in Valhalla? Nice small town...shoot if you are going there, I expect a personal delivery to Tarrytown.
I will be at Reef-a-palooza...so i shall get one there. unless you come up before then.
Well got my clam and the duncan in.
So far both orders with Vivid I've done I've been VERY impressed with their livestock. All of it opens up within an hour or so.
The Duncan I got has 7 heads, its rather large. The Clam has already opened up and shows a response to shadows..
Only thing I'm worried about in my tank currently is I might have to find a new home for my Bicolor Blenny. Twice now I've seen hip nip at my digitalis coral. I don't want him to do that on a regular basis..
Here are the pics.
Also a couple other things. Im in the process of removing the Rim & Lid from my 14 g bio-cube and I'm gonna make it Rimless with a Kessil A160WE on it and turn it into a Nano LPS/Softie tank with Zoas, Hammer, Torch, mushroom, etc with a pair of black tuxedo clowns. (Or maybe 1 clown and a bicolor blenny.. lol)
I also upped my Kalk to 1.5 tsp per gallon because right now I am currently dosing 18ml of ESV B-Ionic alkalinity and my alk still drops about .5 a day. Went from .5tsp per gallon so hopefully this will help even it out.
That looks fantastic, Bizacon! Very nicely done.
Update to the garden and the Wyoming
A quick status update with good news! I've been cycling the tank with Dr. Tim's One and Only & feeding the bacteria with ammonium chloride. After the bacteria colony grew to the point that it could consistently give me no measurable ammonia or nitrites within 24 hours of dosing ammonium chloride, I decided to go rogue and modify the protocol a bit. So I began daily dosing of ammonium chloride and maintenance dosing of Microbacter 7. I added a pack of Purigen into the media basket, did a 25 - 30% water change, continued monitoring for about a week and consistently saw immeasurable ammonia & nitrites and nitrates holding steady at between immeasurable levels and 0.2ppm (all using Salifert test kits). So yesterday I took the day off from work and drove to Aquatic Life Support Management in Asheville, NC (about an hour away).
After talking with the owner for a good while, we settled on a pair of Ocellaris Clownfish to start out with. Interestingly enough, one is a black-and-white and the other is a semi-white... but they were kept in the same display tank at the store for reportedly two weeks without any arguments and seem to be quite happy with one another in my tank now!
24 hours after acclimation and introduction, and everyone is doing well it seems. Eating well. Very interested in their reflections in the glass sides. Right now they seem to be swimming laps around the Vortech.
