Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Thanks guys. I feel it's coming along nicely! I need some suggestions for some lps.

You are going to love the clowns. If you were a smart man you would have taken the wife over to Asheville and make a weekend out of it and you would be bringing back a happy wife and new fish. Love my time over there.

On another note... I am stuck at a baby shower and I have my qd upgrade sitting at my house. Mail man dropped them off before I left... Don't worry, corona is helping me get over the pain.

I think that rock is begging for some branching frogspawn!
Aye carumba! There's always Sunday morning as long as you and corona behave...
I spent the day in philly with my dad instead of installing the battery backups for the mps...tomorrow morning will be first installment of me cleaning my rats nest..to make room for the battery and ddr....

Remember I am 6'9", will take the corona factory. I don't believe you until I see this rats nest cleaned up!

I want to start focusing on the right side of the tank on the side. My chair I sit in is over there and I want to maybe get some torches and build up that area over there. Have good light, maybe moderate to low flow.

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with these QDs... Amazing what programing can do.. The wait was definitely worth it.

Got a nem! A local didn't want it, so I picked her up.

Also got a Rw4 and a tunze cleaner. However, I don't think I'll end up installing the rw4. Two power heads might be intense. The rw4 got some serious power with its controller.

Yup. I read how they did it somewhere. It was money well spent. Too early to start with the nest.
Lost our sailfin last night, don't know why. My only guess is he starved. He ate a lot of the gha that was left but never any prepared foods. Nothing physically wrong. I'll do a water test today to make sure it's ok, then replace him. He had a a lot of character. RIP Frank.

What kind of nem? Some grow very fast!

Sorry for the loss of frank. It is always frustrating to lose one. I am trying to resist the urge to go get some more coral.

Too early? That sounds like an excuse!! :)

I have a lot of them...Mrs sleeping. I need to run to lowes to pick up some last minute screws etc.
Probably won't dive in till later now. Have to fix the rototiller...flowerbeds are more important than....well you know..
At least it rained last night and washed some pollen away...

I am sticking to my guns with no new coral. I can wait till the show...but I have to replace Frank. Probably go off later to lfs to see if they have one...

I have a lot of them too. Skydrop is great. With all this rain it doesn't need to water until Friday. I am going to run to home depot. Going to get some fabric screen and replace the white plastic stuff

Sailfin tang?

I got a RBTA, with some blues on her body. I was able to remove her off the rock he provided and place her in my tank. She was about 3-4" now she's spreading to about 6"-7" she may be too big for the tank.

Sorry to her about your sailfin, was it a tang and was it in the 40?

Sailfin blenny. Aka lawnmower. I would love a tang but not in this tank. I've considered getting a baby, but they grow fast. Faster than me upgrading tanks....

That rbta does sound too big. Last thing you want is it moving about the tank trying to get comfy, then getting whacked by a powerhead. It could take your whole tank down...

My fabricators still have the tank screens on their to do list. We are at the end of a huge 2'yr project this week and they should be able to start doing some "fun" stuff. I have them doing the screens and a canopy. Obviously work related projects come first...

Here's a photo Holly (the wife) snapped. I just noticed this morning a tiny bit of fin deterioration on one fin on the black-and-white. Nothing significant or alarming, but will keep an eye on it. These guys seem to be settling in a bit and calming down. The orange one refuses to eat the Thera-A pellets, but was okay with PE Mysis. The black one happily eats both.

Sorry for the loss of Frank, Reduck. That's gotta be a little frustrating to just have one randomly die without an obvious reason. Hope you find a good replacement today!

Well. I'm getting another Nuvo Fusion tank. Gonna get the 10 gallon nano and start it up in my bedroom so I have something relaxing to watch when I'm in there.

Also, if I were to get an anemone for the 40 gallon, I would get a rock flower anemone. They're awesome looking and don't get too gigantic.

Ok, I'll do a fts as well..

LOL..too bad. I practically gave my jbj12 away..it was reef ready to go...

Like the Duncan also. Don't see those in a lot of tanks but they're beautiful corals

Thanks! You already know it's one of my favs too! This one started with 3 heads. I think there are 7 now.
I still haven't decided if it will stay up there, or move down on the rock. It has good extension, but I know it could be better...I may even split the colony in two..one of these days when I have time to devote to the tank...

Today was not one of them. Started off with a dead tiller. Fuel line rot. Off to lowes. Fixed that then started front beds. Tore out gazillion invasive lambs ear plants. Then replaced some tier lights out back...Now just gave our oldest beagle her bath...next feed them, take a shower, then off to dinner. I need a week to recover....
I'll do my water tests tomorrow...maybe next week while GP is on I can work on my rats nest...
