Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Just brought mine home today (actually purchased the op's tank, stand and skimmer).

Going in my daughter's room and will be the "easy" addition to the house really only housing a pair of percula clowns, 2x rainbow rose nems, Sunburst rose, a bunch of zoas that don't get the spotlight they deserve in my sps tank and my small stock of jawbreaker mushrooms.

Equipment list so far..
Tunze 9004
1x mp10 wes
Kessil A350/or 360w( don't think I'll really need the spectrum or spread of the 360w with the current stock list and size of tank though so my guess is the 350 will do fine)
Tunze nano ozmolator
Reef angel controller( wifi module, Moonlight hub)
Existing rock from various tanks in my house
New sand (caribsea special grade).
150w eheim jaeger.

Things I'm thinking of getting are a custom media basket either diy acrylic or buy one that others have in the thread.

Ill update with pics once it's wet but for now still in the prepping phase.

One question I had is about the water level.. Are you guys getting micro bubbles from the 90's due to them not being submerged? Has anyone tried to just seal the slip joints if that's the case so you have a bit of a buffer vs the level being so high in the last chamber?

Smart... "daughter's fish tank"... That is how I got the tank in my house :). Pretty nice stocking list for your daughter... If you ever need to get rid of a rainbow rose, let me know.. Will be more than happy to take it off of you.

I am not using a the tunze...a few people are so I am interested to see what they say as well... Looking forward to seeing your set up!

I like this pump placement a lot. Ran at constant 100% with no splashing. Had to do something as I was getting a lot of sand movement.

Have you tried other test kits? Just as a backup? I'm using both Hanna and liquid kits. Sometimes I do two tests just for peace of mind. Especially nitrate and ammonia. I probably wouldn't do it so many times if I tested more often. I test for po, alk, cal, no, and nh these days and that's once a month.. Check salinity when I do wc. it's been quite stable. I'll be testing more as I get the doser up.

Didn't get to finish the doser setup today, too groggy. I made 30g of rodi with intention of mixing up the two part, but wasn't awake enough to mix it. Picked up an eshopps airline hanger and silicon tubing so I have everything ready. Test fit the doser and container and it will all fit in the lower compartment. Also thinking I may put the doser on its own shelf (diy) above the top shelf. There is a lot of wasted space up there.

Yippie almost bed time!

I have back up test kits and use them.... I am thinking there may have been damage that I could not see... With that much kalk in the water, probably did some internal damage.. Live and learn... I think I am just going to hold off on the dosing pumps until I feel I am ready to put additions back in the tank. Probably will just the DOS route

water level in these tanks appears low but it is correct if the level barely covers the top of the return nozzles.

I may have a couple of media baskets fs shortly as I am moving to just floss holders in mine....I have one intank and one aquagadget. They are running nothing now other than floss..

Ok...I knew that would be your answer...but had to ask anyway..
Probably a smart move holding off. When you return from your trip, you'll have fresh mind to think about it. That and a few weeks settling time..

I looked at these a lot when researching lighting. I love the color of the kessils. I had set my sights on the 360. It's not overkill. You can dim it to what's needed easily, with the 160 you can as well but once you reach the top, that's it.
Also look at Larusso designs mounts. They are beautiful!

Only reason I went with the Radion was the mounting options for canopies. I intend on building one shortly and the radion just fits and functions better in a short canopy.

Good luck with your startup and welcome to the addiction!

I have decided on the 360 and I have looked at the Larusso mount which I love. I'm returning to the addiction after a 15 year absence so I will post my tank build in the next few weeks. I will already thank everyone in advance for all the great information I've been able to get out of this thread.

Excellent decision...go big or go home. I tell my wife the fish appreciate nice stuff..just like she likes her Kate Spade purses... :lolspin:

Did a little re scraping last night like this a little better

It is looking good! Make sure that they are secure, you would be surprised what little hermit crabs and other animals can do at night

Good choice. You'll love it. I still wish that would have fit in my plans. Now I have to upgrade my radion to pro3 level just to get close...as soon as they get back in stock. I figure a 5 day lights out will clear up my sandbed at the same time....

Wanted to post some update FTS...I have my rock where I want. Zoas are slowly opening back up and the other coral are coming around since the crash. I am headed in the right direct

Looks good..minimalist rock..I like that.... I need to take you for a ride to ultimate corals....
It's only about an hour and a half south,,
I should talk to him about a private group buy for us here...

Thanks guys... It took me a while, but I feel good about it

I am totally down to swing over there. Actually looked at their website and they have some cool stuff. When I get back from Asia, I would be willing to set something up mid April.

Now should I bring all my live rock or just a few of them?? Just hate to move them after I have them finally where I want them :bounce1:

Oh i make myself laugh

Yea, bring your rocks...:lmao:
And a lot of $.

Seriously, if you are on Facebook like his page. He posts new stock as it comes in. Everything is wysiwyg. He gets some real special pieces.

I figured $ and coral go hand in hand..I do not have a facebook or any social media...I am old school at that. The people I want to talk to are in my phone!

I would like to pick up a purple hammer coral..really like those. Guess the joys of having a tank crash is you get to build a fish and coral list!
