The BK is a 250ext that I'm planning on using on the second system for QT and whatnot. I was highly impressed with what it produced. After making a couple modifications to the Pro 3, it pulls out a tremendous amount as well. I never had them both running at the same time after the pro 3 mods so I don't have an apples to apples comparison unfortunately. I do know that the BK250 isn't rated for 1500 gallons.

haha - yeah, people not in the hobby love the tank and are overwhelmed with the filtration room. people in the hobby spend as much time or more back there.

Absolutely. Food grade.

What mods did you do to the mrc pro III if you don't mind sharing?

I had them put (I believe) the first wash down system on a Pro III, then a larger Venturi with union, Sequence 5800 NW pump, and the latest mod is what I call a "snorkel" in the collection cup lid. Since I drain into a 5 gallon bucket then pump to a drain, it really allowed the skimmer to breathe regardless of skimmate buildup in the cup. Much more consistent now.
