Problem with supplying a BT adapter...... it then becomes something else they need to supply support for. They are in the business of making equipment...... not computer tech support. Personally a USB connection would take care of 90% or more of the problems

I use a ASUS BT-400. No problems

Technical support for a Bluetooth dongle? I'm going to guess that would take up less time than they have already spent over the years (it's not a new issue) on people not being able to reliably connect. They are in the business of making hardware and the software to run it and it's their job to make sure that it is as easy to use as possible.

If the Company line is that pretty much all laptops use under-powered Bluetooth radios to make them energy efficient and that the standard radios aren't sufficiently powered but their hardware will work perfectly with a Class 1 dongle then just include it and make sure it works out of the box. Easy.

Anyway, it's a pointless discussion. ;)

If you had an issue it would be suggested that it was your adapter...(as it does not meet their requirements)

I suspect it is more than a bluetooth issue, as I mentioned before it was working with my cheesy laptop bluetooth. I don't want bluetooth issue to be in the equation therefore I am meeting their requirements.

BUT... I want it only to be a bluetooth issue now.

I just did a firmware update with my Dell Laptop again with the built in Bluetooth. I got an Error at first, so I restarted the update, and then it took fine.
I'm now on 1.6C on both the laptop and Doser. I noticed that the Doser pumps much faster now than before on all three speed settings. Is this normal? I recalibrated 2-5 on the "Precise" flow rate and 1 on Fast Flow because it seemed to struggle on the Precise flow rate. Could the motor be going out? Are replacement motors available?
I have a friend that is looking for a doser to dose .5ML per day per solution, and I have recommended him this doser. Please confirm that he's ok for use with that low a volume.
Thanks, Surge

I have updated recently to 1.6C and noticed that at precise speed the pump has really slowed down. If anything it is better for low dosages like that, makes it easier to nail down calibration.

I wonder if anyone ever tried putting an BT adapter on a USB extension cord and zip-tying it to the doser's antenna.

Doesn't matter. My doser was sitting out in the open above the tank. Computer was less than 3 ft away and I still would get issues. This is with a Class 1 (100m) bt dongle.

If you will use proper BT module - connection even thru wall will not be any problem.
It's confirmed by many Customers.

@CFC_surge
yes, 0.5ml can be dosed without any troubles.
Important information:
If there is installed Pharmed tubing it CAN'T work on precise flow mode(it's written in manual).
You should set doser for Fast flow but even in this mode doser can dose single drops - mean about 0.03-0.04ml in single dose.

Why did the software update make it pump so much faster? Is that normal?
I don't want to shorten motor life by over clocking them, and I prefer a slower more controlled drip rate.

Is there accuracy issues with the moderate and precise settings?

If one of my motors is struggling on the precise setting does that mean the motor needs replacing or an issue with the drive circuit? What is more likely?

I'm using silicone airline for the tubbing.

Yes,on precise flow motor speed is increased due some reports from Customers about problems with properly(with constant speed) head rotation.
You dont have to worry about that - it not decrease your pump/head lifetime.
If your motor it struggling on precise flow - be sure that it isn't working with Pharmed(beige color) tubings. This mode is designed only for silicone(white/transparent) tubings.

Because that kind of tubing is too hard and give too high resistance for motor on low speed mode = flow is not constant and very hard to determine/calibrate.

Cheers. Could you confirm the best clear tubing and size to use with your pumps? I'm probably overdue changing them, although it still appears to be dosing accurately on the one pump I use at present.

Sorry for the misinformation. I did replace the tubing with "Pharmed" at the same time as doing the firmware update. The pumps ran very quiet. Flow rates were about 15 ml/min, so I had to manually calibrate using precise flow adjustment.

If you are using Pharmed tubings I strongly suggest switching to fast flow.
On that kind of tubing even on fast flow you can dose single drop of liquid daily..

Hi
Almost all tunings with wall thickness 1mm should work - so you can use(ID/OD):
1mm/3mm
2mm/4mm
3mm/5mm

Does anyone have a link to maybe amazon or any place for the best tubing to run?

I just picked up a unit on here, and would like to order correct tubing. I just ordered the Kore 5th Magnetic Stirrer too. I will be dosing only ZEOvit products with this.

reading about the Bluetooth issues, so if I have a new MBP2016 touchbar I won't need to buy a dongle correct?

Thanks
