Nice! I really like the fact that you have the ability to angle the lights. I've thought about putting mine on a bit of an angle too. Good job with the machined parts.

Wow, that is a great find and great idea to use the flexible mounts. I recently stumbled across your previous build and by the looks of things, this build is going to be even more impressive.

I have dissassembled the illumina so that I can install the newly fabricated pieces. I am just priming them now. Should have them painted and installed in the next day or so.
In other new. I am getting very close with my keg fridge... I will post pictures for all to see once completed :beer:

Here is the assembled light. I changed the design slightly to reduce the overall width from 24" wide to 19". This was done because the tank i'm planning for is 30 wide however it will be eurobraced meaning that i will lose 4.5 " on both sides. The strips would then sit above the bracing doing nothing so I changed it.
Let me know what you think. I'm still waiting for vertex to release there dimming modules for the LED strips and the celebra controller.

Well I acquired 2 awesome tanks that were used as sumps from the owner of Aquarium Obsessed. It was quiet a challenge to get them out from under his 1000 gal system, up the stairs and out his house. Then it was equally challenging to get them into my basement. I still need to clean them up.
The smaller tank measures 30Lx30Wx26H with 4 holes for 1.5" bulkheads and the other is 76Lx28Wx20H. They are very well built as always. Will was very meticulous and the price was amazing I had to grab them.

I am not sure yet, I will definitely use the sump and probably one of my other frag tanks that i own.
a. 30x19.5x14
b. 24x24x8
I am really not sure what I'm going to do with it or if I will even use it? I do however have a small issue where my bubble king SM250 will not fit in the proper skimmer section of my new sump meaning that I will either have to do one of the following
1. remove the piece of glass in my sump and make it larger or
2. put the skimmer in the middle section or
3. use that big 30x30x26, make it into a massive bubble trap install a 16" stand to raise the skimmer and have it drain into the sump
So many unknowns ...

It will be quiet some time before everything is up and running though. I am about to start insulating the rest of the walls in the fishroom downstairs. Then i need to start framing in the bulkheads around ventilation and other obstructions.
Its a slow process however that is the best way to not break the bank

I have a few moments during lunch and thought I'd provide a long overdue update. I have finished assembling my light fixture which was posted above. I am still working on the fish room whenever I get a few moments (seems to be harder and harder to find time). I acquired a copy of AutoCAD and have been playing around with layouts for a couple weeks. I think I have decided on one and will post a sketch when I get home. The fishroom is framed and I re-did the ductwork for my HRV so that I could create proper bulkheads around the ductwork without loosing efficiency. I have 65% of the ductwork in the fishroom bulked out. I am bracing it like crazy so that I will be able to hang anything from it should I ever find a need in the future.
My skimmer (bubble king super marin 250 internal with self cleaning head) would not fit into the first the section of my massive sump, So i went out and bought some 8 and 10 thou (0.008 and 0.010") guitar strings and used them with thin taping knives and an exacto blade to help un-laminate the large bubble trap from the first section. I will then cut down the glass pieces and re-install the baffle to create the bubble trap only smaller. Then the bubble king will fit in the correct location. I will try and get some pictures posted in the next day or two.
Lastly, the project that has been taking up a bunch of my time is the antique Keg fridge, Its almost complete. Primer and 3 coats of paint has been applied. I'm just waiting for a new seal to arrive from the US and then I have to apply 2 layers of clear coat and then re-assemble it.
