par 38 led penetration depth

Hi guys, As above really, how deep do you think par 38 led bulbs could penetrate and still be suitable for acroporids? I have a 30 inch deep 2ft cube and was wondering how far down i could keep light loving acros. Furthermore, i have little knowledge of leds, how many par 38 bulbs do you think would be needed for outstanding light coverage? I was assuming between 5 and 9 but that really is a guess.

The answer to both of your questions depends on the optics; if you get good PAR38 bulbs with 40 degree optics you can probably keep acros anywhere. I think 4-6 bulbs (40 degree optics) should be enough for a 24in cube. BTW those bulbs need to be in a well ventilated area since they rely on passive cooling.
