I have a 40 gallon breeder with 4 Par38s from Rapid Led. I love the look.

Nameissoftlover, how do you like that light? Are the pics on the previous page with that LED Par38 bulb? How does the dimmer work?

Not sure that one you are referring but in general, PAR38 are dimmed in two manner:
1)They come with a remote to dim
2)They are made to be compatible to triac dimmer, that is the dimmer you can buy from Home depot and put by the side of the door. Therefore, most PAR38 aquarium light will not be dimmable to save cost unless the spec especially mentioned that function.

I'm using one of Evil's par38 on a 10 gallon nano for a contest on our local club forum.

It's not as dark on the sides as the pic makes it out. It's just so bright in the middle it's hard to photograph.

I was wondering about the LED that is listed in post 984 and purchased from Ebay. Thanks.
How do you like it, is it being used in the picture from post 966?

it uses a remote, that, either my battery is going dead in or just is acting up.. over all it seams to do well.. i did take it off my tank however since i only had one and i have added yet more coral to the tank i felt it was not a wide enough spread

over all im very happy with the light, the dimming is ok, i go to bed i lover it, when i wake up i raise it...but overal, the power seams to hold its own, im testing it on a carpet i have, he seams to enjoy it, i put it not directly on him, but a little to the side, came home he was directly in it, moved it again to the side,...he moved within the hour to being directly in it...only downfall..30 degree optics :(

How high over your tank? Tank dimensions? and your observation of beam width? Sorry so many questions, and thanks for the info.

Anyone in New York City has PAR 38 bulbs(that I have not tested) want them to be tested for PAR distribution? I would like to collect the PAR data and publish them for everyone here.

Not using as my primary lighting, but i had a kooky idea for awhile of "mood lighting" color enhancement. It may be too weak as an idea, or they may get too hot but i wanted to try it anyway just to see. :) If it works well i'll get three two more bulbs. If not then i'm prepared to return the 30.00 lamp to Target and the lamp to hd. :)
They're all moveable in a pivoting way. Each one have cone shaped shades that go on them.
I plan on actually having it setup on the right side not the left like i put it temporarily in my photo I'll take more pics when i'm done setting it up and tidying things up and stuff.
