PAR Meter

Sean you will be bumped to the end of the line for giving me a hard time. Haaaaaa You know Im kidding dont get your thong in a bunch.

Are you implying that your not renewing your membership Zach?

Right, I don't really see the point.

hey i just want to know when we start passing the beer/whisky around lol

I second that. We should all go out and have a few one of these days.

Hey angela- I like that Idea, If you check it out then you are responsible for replacement if it is lost or broken........but what if it breaks while you have it because it is old.....or was improperly used before you got it and it didnt work from the get go or was already damaged in some way. I like the idea but mabe we can have a penalty for having the item checked out from rhett for more than 2 weeks or something like that, and use the fines to go for more/replacement club equipment? I think the only way he will actually be able to keep tabs is if people are forced to return it to him in person. I'd drive to springhill if someone was gonna save me a ton of money by not having to buy something myself, but thats just me and I live in the boro, may be different for those further north.

nightfire- good thought! Personally with club dues as low as they are Id be willing to put in some cash in some kind of collection to buy club items for all to use once we get the checkout procedures followed better.

just my .02

Lots of good ideas regarding equipment. I understand it can be difficult to track and I was simply trying to throw out ideas. Glad to see everyone is pitching in as well.

Hey there all, Let me start with, I don't have a dog in this hunt, but as an outsider looking in. How about a signed check for the amt of the item. You have so long to get it back, say two weeks, if in two weeks you either return it, make arrangements when it will be returned or someone starts calling you. If after three weeks(or whatever is decided as fair) you haven't returned it, you haven't called and no one can get ahold of you, the check is deposited. Now the club has some sort of possible reprecussion against you if the check should bounce. If it doesn't, then the club gets a new one and you own the old one. Just one thought. Cheers everyone. Mark

LAst I recall this conversation came up at the SC meet amongst a few of us, and I recall Wayne mentioning something about ahving it or knowing where it is. Now Wayne is out of action from what I understand right now, so give Rhett a little time to talk to him.

And Rhett, if not, then put your dog to work and show us how good she is :-)

Last I compared reefing could be a seriously crippling habit :-)//Plus..some are trying to make it illegal..gonna need reef sniffing dogs too....I can see Rhett rolling around with his "DOG" faced puffer reef dog.

Well I debated on posting on this thread as I have waited to see if the par meter would show up. I know everyone has some very good idea's on different check out procedures and we have talked about different things at different BOD meetings. I know Rhett has been looking for it for a while now he did tell me that it was missing. I think it was because someone didn't return it to him and gave it to someone else and so on. I know this is not what we would want and yes we need to have a check out system and I know Rhett has done that but we also need to know that he has not way of enforcment and if people don't return them then we will just lose the item. The club is in grreat financial shape because of the prior years frag swaps and frugal spending. So if it is the will of the club to get other equipment we could. I have decided to not set up any different checkout procedures for this year or this BOD as we will have elections at the beginning of the year and that BOD can decide on how they want to do it. Some of you know but I will not be on the Board.

I definitely think that buying other equipment would be great. One example I think Zach has brought up (if not on here, then at work) was a phosphate meter. :)

Short memory! I asked you that same question, about buying a Hanna meter when you were doing Rhett's job last year? ( No scolding anyone going on here ) But what was said was I'll have to check with someone on that and It ended there. Seeing as the Club has plenty of money IMO unless It's to build a war chest or something It should be used to benefit the paying members. After all It Is their money! JMHO. And I know It cost money to run the frag swap but It should not be so much as It depletes the entire treasurey, With all the new members MTRC has It must provide some benefit to people for their investment or like some they will leave...

i like the idea of pooling money together for equipment but ya know where that will lead...pointing fingures and blaming thought a good idea, one way to fix that is to maybe make a section here on RC listing equipment availible, persons name who has it at the time it is due back.....the site would require you to leave a credit card number to "rent" the equipment but it will still be free though if not returned by due date the card will be charged x amount for late fee and if its not returned at all for whatever reason it will be charged the total amount of the purchased price and with the money that is taken we will purchase the exact equipment

That wouldn't be through RC, probably the club site. How do we guarantee the credit card is good? We'd have to run a pre-auth for the amount of the equipment and place a hold, which is released when returned. Otherwise you could give out dead card numbers and the club would still be screwed. Now we're getting into sticky territory. I don't exactly want to be providing my card number to the club, no offense to anybody. However, I'm sure we could set up something through PayPal. You only have to worry about getting charged if you don't return the item.

I found the par meter and it is still in good working order for the person who has it. They apologized several times for having it this long. It got put in a fish room and was forgot about which anyone of us could do. I will have it in hand by Friday or Saturday. From now on the person who gets it will have to bring it back to me before the next person can get it. I think that is the best way for now if someone has a better idea Im all ears for it. Zach if I sounded rude in the begining I apologize just rubbed me wrong and I was having a bad day. Atleast if someone has to come get it and bring it back I will remember who I handed it to.

its something anyone could have done.....personally i think rhett didnt get enough donuts that day ta make em happy :D lol just kidding rhett bud, anyways no harm im sure, best way i see of doing this is the way you are doing it rhett or the way i suggested, either way i think we still need to pass the beer/whisky round :D lol

Excellent news!!

No problem, I apologize as well, I did not mean to sound like I was criticizing you.

We should definitely all go out and grab some drinks one of these days.

I agree Zach I will let you buy me some drink(s) to make it up to me. Woo Hoo Then again I guess I'll buy you some too. I'll see what I can do to schedule us a get together one night to hang out somewhere and get some appetizers, drinks and good company.
