Peacock Mantis with no Appendages

Hi guys,
I recently bought a nice peacock mantis shrimp, and after adding him to the tank i noticed he's missing both appendages. He still has the joints that would connect to the "arm" but no smashers at all, here is a photo.

Im presuming it will grow back after a few moults?
Meanwhile, how do i go about feeding? I offered it some food last night (day of purchase) but due to the probablity of being kept in a jar in a reef tank for a week it didnt eat, which i know isnt a problem.
In a few days or so when i do offer it food, what would be ideal? Mussels without the shell, or clam meat? How is squid? Or should i stick to lancefish/silversides?
Thanks for any help received.

O. scyllarus have powerful mandible and can cut up most soft foods such as krill, shrimp, etc. It will take a minimum of three molts to regenerate the raptorial appendages - about 9 months.
