Lost another one, down to 17. All was well when I feed this morning. It must have died shortly after I left because the body was very pale by the time I got home. Checked water and parameters are perfect.

17 is still a great number. Awesome work. I have found this thread to be inspirational. I would like to try someday but, I realize the commitment needed to be successful. In the meantime, do you think there would be any chance that some fry would live if you just put a breeder box in a display tank?

Make that 16, lost another one overnight. It appears that they aren't as interested in the brine shrimp as much as they were, maybe to small now?, but still unwilling to eat anything else. Any suggestions of what I can try next?
Sorry can't help with your question, this is my first batch. The only thing I can say is that it seems like they would outgrow the breeder box pretty quickly.

Congrats John Miller,I haven't been here for a few months,I had to rid my tank of ick.Went through hypo for 12 weeks,all fish made it through. My male is holding eggs now,and clown fish have also laid eggs.They are getting back into their routine.

You have tried most of the foods that I would try.
I read about a person that had good luck using an air bubler at feeding time to make the non-living foods move about and would trigger a feeding response.
Maybe try some fish eggs, my fish love them, if you have an asian store nearby they typically carry sushi eggs.

I got them to take a very small amount of frozen brine shrimp & cyclopeeze tonight. Not much more than a bite or two, but at least it's a start. My wife bought me a garlic grater at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's the perfect size to grate frozen cubes for smaller portions. I stopped at the LFS tonight and bought some more frozen mysis, frozen plankton & frozen krill. Sooner or later I'm bound to find some combination they like.
I read about flying fish roe but haven't found any locally.
My brine shrimp hatch tonight was awful. I'm going to have to get a better quality product. I'd be lucky if it was 50%. I'm hoping I have enough to feed until tomorrow night. There seems to be two big companies to buy from, either one preferred over the other. I also located someone online that sells hatchable decapsulated in fairly small portions, anyone try them yet?

I buy my bs eggs from brineshrimpdirect and get a really good hatch rate. I keep the eggs in the fridge to help keep them viable.
I have bought the decapsulated bs and they work really well, reduced hatch time and no shells to deal with. But they have a short shelf life and are quite a bit more expensive.

Are you enriching your bbs? In my experience the fry will not live past a few weeks without enriching the brine. I have used bbs soaked in selcon and this works, a better solution would be phyto enriched. A diet of only bbs does not provide enough fatty acids for the fry to properly develop.

Now 14, another one last night. All ate good last night and water parameters are perfect so there has to be some bullying going on after lights out.
Yes, any BBS older than 12 hours is enriched with Selcon. Anything over 48 hours is discarded.

John have you read thru the MBI breeding journals? Maybe it will give you some tips on weening your baby fish.
