OK...is this fish a Perculla or Ocellaris. I bought them from the LFS...someone traded them in. They are a good size mated pair a good 2.5" female and 2" male. I dont want to bias the poll, so I am not going to say yet what I was told they were.

if you are like me, then u probably talked to some BSer or idiot kid who just talks like he knows what hes doing to make a sale or not sound dumn...im pretty sure those are ocell. if they are 2.5"
 
Two people, including me, already stated they were ocellaris in your tank build thread. You have a pair of ocellaris clownfish, and I am 100% certain of that.
 
TBH does it matter that much? they are basically the same although i'm someone who would also like to know but again they look like ocs to me.

I think it matters, even though they are similar fish, one should always know what species of anything they keep in their systems.

Yes, it matters that they will have different characteristics and natural hosts.
Not saying one is better than the other, but you should at least know.
People that have had clowns for a while, will probably be very adamant about having one or the other.
 
It matters to me...I wanted a matured pair of mated wild caught percs. This is what I was told I was getting...but it looks like I got duped. :(

Did you see any pictures/videos of them spawning? Or at least of the eggs? I wouldn't purchase a mated pair without that proof -- seeing how should cost more.

Then again, could just buy a pair and let nature takes it course, unless you are a breeder, IMO, no need to pay extra from a mated pair.
 
you guys shouldnt be so defensive if someone doest take your advice/info right off the bat. like the OP, i too sometimes repost to see if anyone would contradict/divulge other information about the subject. with matters of opinion, it is best to read the many views of the matter, combine with the consensus of the experienced, and come to you own conclusion. and let us not forget that trusting one person's word got him/her in to this predicament in the first place.

Sorry, I don't have the time to check on here very often. This thread was actually on the forums page when I logged on this morning. I guess some comments are better kept to myself.
