Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

Update:

Vertex zeovit reactor 1.5L now online, I decided to put the zeolites on the bottom, and top off with carbon. Anyway, small update on the AF progress. I have only been using limited amounts of the product, now that the zeovit reactor is online and tuned way down, I will slowly ramp up and begin with other supplements next week. Thanks to all that subscribe :)

I really like the new scape. I also like the island and trench look. I think it looks nicer while you're waiting for the corals to grow in. If I had a tank with a footprint say 72x30" I'd leave some big trenches so they'd never grow in. :D

Lol Mindy... I wish..... :) Anyway, I figured you would like it, the other scape was questionable from go.... :hmm6::hmm6: This is a much cleaner look, and did you see all that space for acros??? I finally got the rics on the side towards the bottom of the tank, and everything else on the glass. I now see my acro vision coming to fruition, that overhang on the left is likely where my RR stag will go. The top of the right side island is where I will place the cali tort. I have a vision of placement for most already, believe it or not, lol... I will be dipping colonies in a couple of weeks, then over to the display. I like having the ability to do so patiently, one coral at a time. I plan on using epoxy and glue to mount them with a bonsai look. This should get interesting in the upcoming months.

Quick shot of the Red Planet, this one has been getting some sweet color, for a standard, run of the mill coral :)

Wow Perry, that Red Planet looks awesome!
Thanks Mark!

Your Red Planet is so nice -- I love red. How much par does it receive?

Thanks for the compliment, I love reds too:)
If I were to guess, I would say between 275 and 300. In the frag tank, only 12" deep, under 4 bulbs out of the 8, light is 8" off the water, so it gets a fair amount of light, under 2xblue+, 1 coral+, and1 True Actinic.

Sweet planet. [emoji106]

Thank you for the kind compliment, much appreciated!

Wow, the colors you're getting on that red planet is about as good as it gets! Good job

Thanks cFloor,
I appreciate the kind words, I hope to get the colonies over to the display in the next few weeks... That is if all goes as planned. After that, I will likely put down a coarse sandbed in the frag tank, and construct a frag rack. I will then focus on my 20+ new frags, and continue to seek out new ones for the collection. I was lucky to get about 30 frags over the last couple of weeks, some are the same, but I got my hands on a few I have been seeking out, I will wait until they color up to put some pics down...

That red planet sh#ts all over everyone else's on RC Perry............ and you can take that to the acro bank mate

I could never hold that sort of intense red mate, never been able to despite numerous attempts so bravo my friend

FANTASTIC COLOR and nice colony !!

Thanks Daniel,
I think I have a spot figured out for this coral, looking forward to getting my display back in order :)

Thanks Matt!
Still going through some small changes as the corals condition over to AF. The tank has been nutrient poor before the transition, however, I am having a touch of brown dusting, I imagine it is just a process. Anyway, the corals look strong, all the frags I acquired are starting to color up too, They were pretty pale, so I am not really using the coral e right now, I do not want to stress already pale colors by use of copper sulfate :) Hope all is well, look forward to seeing your progress with the AF system.

Thanks Matt and Mark!

I have been patient now with the corals housed in the frag tank, but seeing no reason to keep them there at this point. No signs of pests, no algae in the display, rock work complete, so next update will have a pic of my new display with acros:) The corals were given new homes yesterday. I still have some frags to move over, but in no hurry, just need some glue :)
