Michael, I dose 20ml per week of Salifert Hard Trace, and really been lucky with reds and pinks in this tank, especially since starting AF. Tomorrow I am actually going online with component system, I finally got the frag tank broken down, tidy'd up the wires, mounted controllers, and installed the BM individual doser along side of the E-shopps twin doser. All 3 will be controlled on the doser. Starting with 50ml per day and taking it from there. I anticipate another run on colors when the tank settles in to the component system .
Why thank you Tim, I appreciate the kind words man! The coral is the Hawkins Echinatata which was thought to actually have been a turaki.
Thanks Jorge, I only have 3 millis right now, RMF Acid Trip, Bubblegum, and Sunset. The two pictured were bubblegum and sunset.

Man, funny thing is I tried selling a duplicate colony for $40 around the Orlando area, people are too lazy to drive 45 minutes, I ended up losing it when the frag tank started acting up.
I actually have the base of that coral, as a back up, down on the bottom, looking even sweeter than the one pictured. Thanks for the kind words Matt!
Yep, AF has morphed that one, same spot as it's always been, love the new coloration myself, if you read above, I told Matt I could not give that coral away, a duplicate colony for only $40, spoiled Orlando reefers, lol... Thanks for the compliment buddy!
Hey thanks I appreciate you looking the tank over, colors have been looking pretty nice lately, growth is also booming... I had the green cyano too Mark, I siphoned 90% out, updated my skimmer pump, and upping my NP Pro for nitrate removal. Don't overlook nitrates in quest of chasing PO4 numbers, lol...

I have been using the components system by af for a few weeks now and I will tell you you will need more than 50ml a day. My tank right now is 230ml a day of each.
I just today mixed my own Components 1+2+3+ using the dry powders and components strong to replace the premade mixes I had used up.... In guessing it's cheaper doing it yourself.
When you start the compnents+ I'm guessing you will stop the trace hard?

Hi Perry.... arrived in 1 piece to Florida after 24 hours of driving split in 3 days.

Hey Michael, I am only using 50ml to start, I will measure alk daily at the same time to determine loss and sweet spot. I figure it will take a few days, so I have new test kits set to arrive later this week. I agree, I think my system will settle around 100ml per day, just have to see
Yes, I will discontinue the use of Hard Trace effective already. Going down to the shop to pick up the component system later. Lines already ready to get the dosing going, just have to go online at this point. Hey Kevin, thanks for checking in on the thread. I also appreciate the kind words too

As I would understand your system and what you are trying to do, you would actually use the Component A,B,C along side of your method of delivering your brand of alk, cal, and mag. I would have done the same, but had a large bottle of Trace Hard to work out, which had much of the same stuff in the A,B,C... Hope that helps. You would use component strong if you were mixing your own 3 part component system, I think Michael W is doing this, as his demands are WAY too high for the premix stuff. Same as premix, but he will get more bang for his buck this way. This is what is unique about AF, you can mix and match different brands, but ultimately, for me, it simply makes financial sense to go the whole shabang with AF. Welcome to FL, we had a cool front move through, so the weather will be as good as it gets, enjoy, and check out the FL aquarium too

my tank is running fine for now, new lamp is coming this week, so something great for me too

I am still using the aquaforest kh buffer, calcium, magnesium, and mineral salts with the components strong. All AF products. I was using premix, I asked them if mixing it per instructions with their dry powders makes the same product as the mixed stuff and they said yes. If it's exactly the same I didn't see the point of paying for the rodi water and the labor for them to mix it. I can do that myself.

Picked up some AF component 3 system today, it is automated and the starting dose will be 70ml per day. I will test each morning to determine the sweet spot.
I also picked up another bottle of Pro Bio S, and I must say, the smell is completely different than my first bottle. I had been battling green cyano, and I am wondering since I did not refrigerate, if maybe it spoiled and that caused the bloom? S
I am now operating with complete AF lineup. I will update the thread as I see changes occur.

Interesting.. I just opened a new bottle of probios and thought the exact same thing and was wondering if my old one had fine bad 2. The new one does not smell as bad. However I did keep my old one refrigerated.
Maybe they changed it slightly?
