Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

The @##$ is wrong with you perry, can't you see i'm struggling to get green colors...you go and post pics including pink, red, purple, etc and rainbows in general:mad2::mad2:
Thought you were a cool dude:p

Thanks for sharing the pics buddy:beer:
p.s
One more thanks for your AF schedule:)

My pleasure my friend :) I will try and wait awhile on pics, lol... Just really cool to see another push on colors, really happy with the component system. Thanks again!

Hey Perry, what is the size of the Coral Food spoon? What could you compare it to? Like a Salifert spoon or Reef Chili spoon? I think I'm adding a significant amount more particulate food than you are. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet.

I joined the AF Facebook group to check it out, but I doubt I will post anything there. I don't see the benefit or draw to using FB over RC. :)

Exactly the same size as the salifert spoon Mindy :) I think it would work well to supplement since you have such low nutrients. Running bb, I have so much particulate matter I really don't use the product as much. For your tank I think it would be perfect until nutrients raise, but then you could finally use some NP Pro :) Cheers.

Ok thanks, that's the spoon I'm using. I'm dosing 3 spoons every evening. So far so good. I have some hair algae that's been gaining ground under the Gyre (it sucks all the gunk to the same side as itself), so I bought an Abalone today. He should mow that down pretty fast. I've had some great success with Abalones - a client of mine even put one in his BioCube over a year ago. I'm surprised by that, it pushes the envelope certainly!

No more, please no more Perry! My eyes and brain can't handle the level of amazingness that is currently emanating from your tank! :eek1: :inlove::blown:

I still simply cannot get over how incredible your acid trip milli looks..

This makes me want to go on an acid trip! :jester: please feel free to take more pictures haha

Hmm, I have 2 spots where hair grows, but nowhere else, I just manually prune it since it is an easy reach. Grows on the plastics of the tank, but underneath the led strips, must be getting the light it loves. It also grows like an algae scrubber in my overflow compartment, I have to prune it or my flow slows down....lol... As long as it is not in the tank, I don't mind pruning, lol... I think the addition of the coral food is a great idea, let me know how your corals react. Cheers!

Thank you Dom! I know you like that coral, if you were not halfway around the world, you know we would have a straight up trade for the fire truck, lol... I am not going to even entertain fragging it until July. When I do, it will be only 2 frags. Hopefully I can get a frag tank going in the next couple of months, I would love to trim my cherries and offer them up for decent prices:) We shall see, I have a lot going on right now with AF, and I am about to go back to my old job at the restaurant soon, I may not have time, lol.... Cheers my good friend!

Keep your buddy cham in mind when those bone cutters come out there fella!!

You've picked up some new stuff that I'd love to have a piece of:)

Meant to also comment, your tank is looking silly sweet. I'm trying to behave myself $$ wise so I'm avoiding reading up too much on AF. Your colors are making that harder to do tho. I'm the kinda guy if I get too excited about it, it will be on my doorstep in a few days.

What are you finding the cost difference between AF and using BRS dry suppliments? Roughly

I agree, new corals are much cooler, we will have to get on the phone soon to discuss :) I do not find the products any more than other labels available. You also can run the system in many different ways, so you can try a few products, and take it from there. The carbon, phos minus, salt are all reasonable, and higher quality than BRS, in my opinion. As far as buffers go, they are probably more than BRS but much less than other balling methods. You can mix your own to further save a few bucks. The trace being wrapped in, I use pre-mix formula myself. So, I am very satisfied, and hopefully my colors speak for the system. You have my number, shoot me a text or call when you have time:)

Fo shizzle! :lolspin: I think we'd definitely have to do some trading :)
Having a frag tank would be mighty handy, I have frags littered everything  but taking your time is definitely more important :)
Good luck with heading back :) I've worked in a restaurant the last 6 years while studying so I know full well how hectic it can be! :)

Lol Dom,
I have been in the restaurant business on and off for 20+ years, all corporate jobs too. I work a limited schedule only mon-fri, and no nights. Kind of hard to get that schedule in the restaurant:) I used to be married to my job, I love what I do now, no management stress anymore, just prep ;) Cheers Mate!

+1 on restaurant business here. Served, managed, executive chef. Love it....hate it.
What are you going to do in your new role Perry?

Just doing am prep now, I am an early riser, and love only mon-friday! Yep, KM to GM did that, just wanting less responsibility, to go home and not have it carry over, 10+ years management took a toll on me, life is now more important to me:) Cheers Corey!

I feel you on that buddy! That is why I walked away from my executive chef position. Zero social life or family life. Quality of life was nill. But I'm too young to retire so now I need to find a new chapter in my life.

Corey
