Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

Wow Perry the tank is really filling in now :D The colours are all so eye catching too! :)

Thank you Dom! Time buddy, nothing but time :) Just got to watch them corals grow, thanks for the kind words man!

Amazing as always perry:beer:
Love the colors:inlove:
What's your current bulb combo and to which one are you thinking of switching?

4xblue+, 2xcoral+, and 2xaquablue special with 2 blue reefbrite actinics

I plan to run this combo for growth for another 6 months, my next combo will be 5xblue+, 2xpurple+, and 1xaquablue special with the same 2 blue reefbrite actiniics.

Triumphant!

Thank you, I appreciate your kindness :)

Thanks bud!
Don't you get a yellow tint with that combo perry or do the reefbrites balance the situation?
Whenever i use even a single AB i get that "yellow ewww" in my tank:(

atm i use 2 actinics,2 b+,3 coral and one purple.
My 3$@%#itches to try 7 b+ and one AB or one purple or on single coral lol

Yes,
They burn warm, and while I am happy with colors, I think this combo hurts certain corals, while others absolutely glow. Who knows, we shall see :)

I'm running two ABS in my fixture right now as well, I was looking for a more crisp white bulb combo and think I found a good one. 3 blue+, 2 coral+, 2 ABS, 1 purple+ is my setup. I'll probably play with the combination more when things grow out like you, but for now I really like it.

Tank is looking great as usual Perry. :)

Thank you Josh!
The white appearance is really enhanced by the reefbrite led strips, one in the front, one in the back, t5 in the middle :) My combo is similar to yours, and the idea that we share is very similar too. This is why I absolutely love T5's, so nice to play around with combos, this one is working well for me. Now, if I could get my colonies to slow down and my mini colonies to speed up, I would be a happy camper.... Oh the quest for perfection :)

UPDATE:

I will be adding 60lbs of live Reeflakes by Tropic Eden, I have decided that I love wrasses too much to continue BB, I miss having sand, so I will have an update soon showing a sandbed :) Cheers

Good luck perry, tank will surely look different in a good way!
The eternal question..."to sand or no to sand" :p
Can't wait for the pics

I know Mike, and while I am happy with color, growth, and the general direction with the tank, I also had too many powerheads running, too much flow which was bulking up my tank and really needed to run proper bb. That said, I love wrasses and gobies :) I will now just run the gyre 150 and 2 mp40's for flow. Cheers Mike :)

Thanks man!

Ha, ha... How are you Flo, been super busy, I cannot believe how awesome it is to have other focuses than the tank, great to step away and think of other things and allow the tank to grow :) Cheers my friend!

this tank looks amazing in person!! it was great meeting you and picking up some awesome frags :)

Mike, super cool meeting you and thanks for the kind words, glad you liked those nuggets ;)

Jealous!!!!!!! :(

Next time you are in Orlando my friend, you just have to figure out customs, lol.... On a kind note, I do have ice fire echinata on the way, and palmers blue, from a local bud. Also have SC OP and a few more nice ones that I can talk about later, lol....

Hey guys, I feel so out of the loop, lol... Back to working full time, but had a few moments today to clean filters and general maintenance that I have been too busy to deal with, so anyway, I also got some pics. Despite the lack of attention in the tank, I still feel colors are good, here are a few... Cheers!
