Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

Mindy, Chips Acro, but in species terms it was debated often over whether it is a Desalwi or Horrida. Either way, I love it's growth pattern and deeply saturated colors. This is a show piece in the tank on the "ledge". Cheers!

Oh very nice! It looks A LOT like the one in my avatar. Same "bunched tips" growth pattern. Of all the corals in my last tank, that's the one I miss most. Everyone I gave "insurance frags" to killed it. :(

thanks for the reply perry:)

No problem Mike :)

Incredible that last acro !!! Not possible to have it in Spain [emoji37]

How come it is not in Spain? Thanks for the compliment :)

Awe that sucks Mindy, it is the same, just different hues of the same predominate colors, perhaps slightly morphed, but the same. I still lean on Horrida due to the fuzziness of the polyps, either way a nice piece :) I do not see this one in the shops, and only a few vendors online. Not sure of ORA's inventory, but had heard they lost several mothers years back. I have a nano going, I have some of my pieces fragged off in that system, and a couple of buddies like Cham who have several of mine. Cheers!

Perry those are some insane shots bud. Wow

Thanks Jorge, I have some others I haven't photo'd. Hopefully they will color up and I can post some new pics soon, it get's old photo'ng the same corals over and over, lol... Cheers buddy!

Really? I don't see Horrida at all. I'm used to seeing Horrida with bottlebrush branches, and Desalwii as a tabling Acro. Plus, if you looks at the Corals of the World Fact Sheets, you can see that bunchy tip growth pattern in a couple of the photos.

We can't get ORA hard corals in Canada very easily. Some pieces have made it, but technically they usually can't come across the border legally. You need the original import permit from the country of origin in order to "re-export" from USA to Canada. Obviously, that is not usually possible for corals that have been in culture for many years. The only way to get them into Canada is either smuggling, or using paperwork from other shipments (which is also smuggling). It's annoying because it makes it easier for us to get wild corals or wild aquacultured corals than aquacultured corals from the USA.

i need to but on some sunglasses next time i open up your thread... AMAZING!!
Video would be great!

Now Matt, you know you should be eating frozen yogurt not ice cream, lol... Thanks buddy, I appreciate the kind words!

This is just an amazing looking coral. Can you please provide a short video recording of your reef tank if possible?

Hey Bulent and thank you! I will try and get a video soon, I need a decent camera, but I will try and borrow my father's hd recorder soon, been meaning to get a video, but I am not that good with electronics and computers, lol...

Thank you my friend, just trying to work on getting the corals to be happy, they seem to be doing well, I appreciate your taking notice! Cheers

Gorgeous Perry...wow!

Thanks Matt!

I need some sunglasses to view Perry's corals too, but this is rather problematic for me at the moment because I need varifocal lenses, which is too expensive to purchase.

As long as the lenses are protected against UV mate, lol.... Cheers!

Thanks for sharing the pics my dear inspiration:):p
I've too many favorites in there...can't give 1st,2nd or any places at all:)

I'm starting to get nervous about my new build given how everyone's tanks are looking phenomenal at the moment :inlove: I've got lots to compete with :lolspin:

At least I've got plenty of amazing tanks to inspire me for mine when I start playing around! One day I will get myself an acid trip, even if I have to smuggle it into the country! haha

I might try shaming my corals with the beautiful pictures of your corals. Maybe they will get more colorful? Keep pictures of the acid trip coming. This is a must obtain piece for me.

Yes, it is a rare one too, lol... and unfortunately a slow grower, it always works that way :) Thanks Brandon, hope all is well man!

Your colors have now surpassed awesome.

Thanks Kevin, always a work in progress man, hope all is well your way!

Perry, your tank is doing fantastically well. Congrats !!!!

I took this weekend the fuge pictures I owe you. You probably forgot about your request.... LOL. I will Txt it during the week. Now I am in a flight to Washington DC.

Cheers
Daniel

Perry, mine grows very slower too and I thought it does not like my tank. It grew quite fast in Michael's tank with long polyp extension.
