Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

Yup. Agreed. The right side is really filling well with nice forms and a fantastic color pallet.
When the left side catches up, it'll be perfection.
6 months already with AF.. Wow time flies!!
Nice job, Perry!

looking awesome Perry!

sand is also looking good... so white... for now :D

AF really works in your tank!!

Keep those pictures coming my friend!

Flo

For now my friend the sand stays white, but in time I am sure I will have a headache or two, lol....

Acros and the color scape are looking beautiful Perry, i think this one's growth is just stunning

I really enjoy watching a future TOTM develop but especially so when it belongs to a good mate. You'd be a grinning idiot standing in front of your SPS display at times wouldn't you Perry, i bloody well would be ;)

Sand looks orgasmic - i just removed 150lb of sand from the display to catch one green wrasse........ and can i tell you Perry, after what that fish had put my acros through throwing sand all over them all day for the last month - there was no swimming off into the sunset ending for that $%!&#* !:hammer:

WOW good to see you Andrew and thank you so much for thinking so highly of me reef mate :) The tank is moving along, mainly just mainly requires patience as the left side is stacked with smaller corals, but hopefully in six months or so, it will catch up and look more even, the hopes anyway :) Best to you my friend, and hope all is well down under!

Sand looks great bud!

Thanks Diesel, I appreciate the kind words man!

IMO, once it all grows out, this tank is on perfect for TOTM :)

Great job Perry, everything is looking good as usual!

Wow, thank you for the very nice compliment, I really appreciate the kind words and for checking in on the journal. Cheers!

Hey Matt, yes time does fly, and I am back to working 40-50 hours a week again in the restaurant, so not much time for updates, I am spending better quality time with the tank though, and getting more work done. I suspect getting back on my feet was the best thing I could for my health. The tank is moving along well, and yest that left side is loaded with some killer corals, they just all happen to be the slower growers. Time and patience always seems to work well with this hobby, so hopefully next set of pics reveal growth. Thanks for all the kind words Matt, I really appreciate your insight, compliments, and feedback! Cheers

Some coral photos, today is 6 months since beginning use of Aquaforest system. I am very happy with the products and their effect of my corals! Cheers...

Those colors buddy....just :inlove::inlove:
6 months with AF huh?Time flies indeed, like matt said! How much time did it took for you to see AF changing/affecting corals?
+1 on the totm comment...not far away!

I tried the reef salt and now i got the probiotic salt, just out of plane curiosity:)
I'll keep dropping Pro bio and np pro dosage though.

Thanks my dear friend Mike from beautiful Greece :) Side note, Cindy and I love authentic greek food :) Yes 6 months my friend, time travels quickly these days! I began noticing changes within 2 weeks or so, I remember posting up about my Red Planet first, going really pink from a deeply saturated red. It has maintained a hot pink color since, but very little green, it also has white growth tips. Anyway, Matt (California Matt), both were noticing similar things happening at the same time with the same lineage of corals. Not snake oil, as I have heard others state, regarding AF. I first noticed another cycle, even though my tank was over 3 years old, likely the bound nutrients were being extracted from the rocks. I had some cyano issues, and succesfully treated, I think my bottle of Pro Bio S was foul, as my new replacement did not smell funky, like the bottle I had and was using. I too have dropped to 3 drops in the AM of both Pro Bio S and NP Pro, as I have always had little issues with N&P with this tank, I pay credit to my ATB powerhouse skimmer. With that being said, I feed the tank like crazy, sometimes 4-5 times per day, and only with frozen. To me AF Energy is like crack for corals, they love it, and the colors seem to glow the next day after dosing. I am only using 4 drops every other day, along side of AF Build. Opposite those days, I use AF Vitality and Aminomix at 4 drops too. Thanks for the prestigious comments regarding a milestone such as TOTM, I highly doubt it, but would be honored if that did come to pass. I think our tanks are mere representations to how we feel about our tanks, I am just as stoked with things as 6 months ago when this journey began with my re-boot and running AF. Nothing is ever perfect, I still have to clean the glass daily, and get brown dusting on plastics and the back wall of the tank, and have to clean powerheads every 3 weeks or so, but "that's life on the reef", as my reef buddy Iggy always said. Hope all is well! Cheers Buddy :)

Beautiful tank Perry. Better with sand...(i also wanted to go barebottom but...I added sand at the end for aestethic reasons...). Very natural aquascaping, nice corals and great colors. Congrats!

Don't get me started on greek food bud,we need a separate thread:p
So many tastes there! If your road ever leads you here,i promise i'll keep you fed the whole time with bites of paradise:beer:

Thanks for the additional AF info:thumbsup:
So,if i got that right you don't use build daily?

.......and don't be surprised the day that totm hits your door;)

A big fat ole plus one for TOTM here!

Interesting to hear your thoughts on the Coral E being like crack. I've been dosing it somewhat conservatively so far.

If i could only buy one AF product out of the entire range it would be the Energy. If you are running a normal system without using any dosing products and you don't get good results with reds/pinks but other colors appear pretty good - get a bottle of Energy and dose it at the rec strength daily for two weeks without changing anything else and you might be pleasantly surprised. ;)

It is most definitely as Perry said - crack for corals. I use bio•viv HUFA on all my food purely for reds and pink pigments but it's a pain to soak food every day which is why i want to get my hands on Energy which will do the exact same thing in a much lazier way........

Sorry for blurbing my opinion on your journal Perry but i have dosed 5 drops of AF Build so i'm now pretty much an expert on AF...........:p

Mike, don't be surprised if one day, not any time soon, but I come knocking on your door. Cindy has been to Greece a few times, and we have a really good authentic Greek restaurant near by, every time we order I think of you and your beautiful home land. We have Greece as top 5 places we wish to vacation. Thanks for the kind words, I am very happy that your tank is doing well, and no problem with the AF stuff, let me know anytime you have questions. Have a great day! Cheers :)

Thanks Tim, what an honor to make those statements, but for now, I have more work to do :) Yes, the corals love AF Energy, the amount of copper sulfate is nominal, and as long as nutrients are present, I doubt you will have paling or pasteling take place. The smell reminds me of Coral Vitalizer from Zeovit, and I suspect from a coral food standpoint, the results are similar. I know you have smelled the bottle Tim, and I am sure you do the same thing as I do, lol... Whew, that stinks... :) Cheers!

Andrew, no need to apologize, I love you popping in, please do so as frequently as you want, I enjoy your feedback. Hope all is well, and look forward to hearing about your recent trip to the LFS, also excited to see what happens in your tank with some AF supplements. Cheers Mate :)

Some top downs today, I feel like I have seen another shift in coloration, the acid trip has more pop, so does the bubblegum milli. The first round of photos are left side, all super nice, but slow growers, however, I am seeing some increase in growth recently. Thanks for looking :)

Your corals are completely off the hook and out of control! I was trying to choose which looked best and I could not. I will say that the first and last photos have the most intriguing color combos. But pics 2-8 look like they may be my favorites also. Congrats on great work.

Thank You Kevin, very nice of you to say, I have been more committed to dosing my supplements lately, as I have finally got my work, home, and hobby life balanced :) Cheers!

Looking really good Perry! Does this piece have a name?

IMG_6917.jpg

AF seems to be working well for you. :D

Thanks Josh for the kind words man! I believe Acropora Anthrocercis might be the species ID, definitely a wild aussie piece that I picked up at the wholesaler when I was affiliated with the LFS, was able to hand pick a few, and this one really caught my eye. I have not seen one like it, so I am hoping for it to continue to color up and grow, has potential for sure.

wait one moment i have to pick my jaw up from the floor....

looking amazing can´t get enough!!

thanks for showing!

Cheers Buddy

Latest top downs are ridiculous Perry, you should be ashamed of yourself plastering porn all over a family forum........:p
