ok ive been reading for weeks on a haddoni.almost ordered on from the doctors, didnt.seen one at a lfs 2 months ago.didnt.went to petco today, which normally i dont get things from, definantly no fish.dont get fish anywhere for that matter(3 fish in a 60).but i go in today and they have 4 carpets,2 looked not ok.two were upright, stuck and mouths closed.the one i ended up getting is huge 10 inches round and green.I gently scraped the foot off the bottom of their tank with a credit card.the tentalces were very sticky, tight mouth and very stuck.i took that as signs of good health.i bought it ,dripped it for 3 hours and put it in my tank about 20 minutes ago.i did dig i little pit where i wanted it, but i think its on the move.so far its opened up and closed to start moving,no waste or yuck expelling, has colored right back up and is still very sticky.any advice would be great, since reading about stuff and having stuff are usally 2 different things.

what lighting are you rrunning and what size tank? looks ok to me but can you get pictures of the mouth? Also ive found depending on the carpet that some prefer to burrow under the sand with their foot and some prefer to anchor on rock or a mix of the 2. Mine prefers rock. Feeding is also important in encouraging settling in and i was able to get mien to eat within a few days of putting it in my tank.

he is under 260 watts of pc lighting in a 60.upgrading soon to 432 watts of t5.hopefully next month,he is wasting some but it is thick brown, not clear or stringy.hope this pic shows the mouth good.

Nice carpet. But i dont like buying anemones and expensive saltwater fish/corals from petco because you cant return. But its just me. It probably acclimating. How olds your tank? You planning on any clown for it to host?

tank is young still about 4 months.it was only 25 dollars and i know they are hard, but i thought i would try,but i do need help so thanks for advice and replying.thats what the rc is for .thanks again,

mine prefered to dig in next to a rock.

looks pretty normal for just being added to the tank, has a really nice color though.

i have always thought maroon clowns look nice in haddoni carpets.

ps should be fine under the lighting just make sure to feed it a couple times a week, mine liked mysis shrimp, squid, and clam.

about 1 1/2 hours in the tank, really hasnt moved much just blowing up,and then flattening out, then blow up again.

the mos timportant thng is to watch the mouth and make sure he is attaching with his foot. once the foot attaches(if it does) it normally means they are reasonably happy with their location. they like strong indirect flow IMO and the upgrade to T5 would be preferable for better coloration IMO. color is very similar to mine not bad for 25 $

so should i move him, build it deeper and move him back.?i havent touched him at all.if happy how long usally for the foot to attach,or does it vary?

ok ill build it up and put him on it.the middle of my tank is the high light good flow area of my tank.he hasnt moved at all really.i am alittle worried, from other pics the mouths of others there is white bubbles, you can see them in a side pic of mine.hoping this is normal.if happy how long will it take him to attach his foot??thanks guys for replying.

Yeah Gigantia has spots on the bottom. The color is almost identical to mine. Great looking anemone, Good luck

just a shot of the mouth,i did put it on deeper sand.i wont touch it again.how does the mouth look to you guys, normal for acclimation or no?
