Petco sale

I so wanted to pick up the last 40 breeder in town for my sump, but decided at the last minute that it just wouldn't fit with everything else I've got planned. So I'm now back to trying to decide between a 29g and 20L.

Still, $1 per gallon is a great deal, especially the bigger you go. They told me that the 33's came with the glass lid and light strip, but that all the others were tank only deals.
 
This sale has me going crazy. So far I have bought 5-33G Oceanic cubes and i'm buying a 6th tommorow when their tank shipment comes in.

Another sweet trick, but very dishonest of course:rolleyes: is when you buy a fish most likely freshwater, for me it's koi for my pond. They have a one week guarantee, for some reason if they die on me it's after a week, so what I do is buy another fish and use that receipt to return the dead koi:D As I said it's not the best thing to do but it does save me money. Plus the fish store owner is already rich enough;)
As for the petco deals, I'm going there tomorrow morning, I hope they still have stuff available. I don't care what I get, if I don't use it I'll just sell it for more :)
 
I bought a 33g Oceanic but now that I have it I'm not sure if I like it.

It seems too deep at 23 inches. Also the bottom is tempered so no drilling the bottom.

Am I crazy for not liking it?
 
I wasn't planning on drilling mine, so I like it.

Also, it's 23" tall, not deep, right? Mine is for seahorses, so I was pleasantly surprised because I wasn't expecting it to be that tall.
 
The back won't be tempered on the 33 so you could drill there. If there were any more Petco's in town, you better believe I'd be out there looking for a 33! Maybe I should call up to Santa Fe ... it's only an 1 1/2 hours away ... my wife would kill me ....
 
Folks....I am now rethinking whether or not to return my 20 long and get a 33 cube for my qt.... Is it worth it? or is the 20 more beneficial considering more swimming room? I know it's slightly off topic but I have to ask!.... I still may buy it and resell it.. Please give your opinion people!

i royally screwed myself by waiting....they ae all gone!...lol this sucks... oh well at least i still got a 20 out of it...ad i went through 6 petcos...blah!
 
Well even though I got this as a QT I was able to find a 40 strecth hex with glass top and light for you guessed 40 dollars... Not bad considering it lists for 250.00. It's a QT tank for my others and may be overkill but how can you pass on such a great offer.
 
Are any of you going to sell them, I'm thinking of ebaying my 30G Hex with a light. I think I can make some good money in a couple weeks of course.
 
good luck with that....i am going to try to trade mine locally for a skimmer and return pump.......ebay is ok....but i dont want to ship it
