and a cute little majono

nice blob :)

i had mojanos once. i had about 3, and they were very easily sucked from the rock with a turkey baster. i kept them in a pitri dish in my fuge and they never moved or multiplied.... i guess i was lucky because everybody else i hear from say their a major nuisance!

you might wanna do something about that guy before he starts stinging your blob.

grabbed a picture of the other clams - they all look happy
babyclams-2.jpg

Not a bad picture through 3' of water :)

still not sure what got the other one, parameters all look fine, and I've been looking late at night and in the morning for "Marcworms" or other predictors but nothing spotted. My best guess right now is I knocked something on it like some salt build up on the top of my tank.

beautiful---3 feet of water--what lighting are you using to penetrate that far

I use a rather inepensive Panasonic Lumix. I waste a bunch of pictures for eveyone I use, glad it's not film.

For atinics I have played with the white balance but most of the time I just use the auto setting. These were taken on the auto white balance setting. I find it works a bit better at lower resolution, I think these started at 3megs.

heres a couple I shot last year in the morning with atinics

the clam pic is taken with 3 250w 12k Reflux and the atinics on. They are in lumabrite relfectors. I also have a couple 400w 10k Reflux but hardly ever turn them on. Once I get things back to a stable condition I'll start to run the 400's a couple hours a day.

Pete, the A. mille looks much better, and the blob could be an A. nana perhaps. Making a comeback.

did i count 5 mouths on that one ricordea? thats pretty cool!

that's what I counted also. I keep expecting it to split but I guess it;s content with just growing more mouths and making a chain of connected rics.

I found an easy way to make Rics split. Sprinkle some kalc paste on them and they will split almost overnight trying to rid themselves of the stuff. I found this out when I was killing the mojanos and some kalc paste fell on some rics. They were immediately burned and split overnight. It happened again about a month later and the same thing happened, purely by accident of course.

Marc, do you know how to take attinic shots using a Nikon dx40?
Even the camera shop where I bought the camera can't tell me.
On automatic like psteeleb suggested I just get a shot with the attinics filtered out--rather ugly actually
