My skimmer pump for my ASM baby-g finally went out over a week ago
so I ordered a SWC 150. I installed it last night and I love it! Mainly cause it runs so quiet.
Also, I finally ordered a 5-stage RODI system. I've been using tap water this whole time haha! This should result in more coralline growth which my tank is lacking and also lessen the brown algae growth I get on the glass. I also hope the colors on my corals will get brighter and hope that I get more polyp extension on some of my sps. Along with that, I'll be using aquavitro salt once my bucket of seachem reef salt is gone.
After I'm done with finals next week, I'll update with more pics and show off some goodies I just got. Too bad the goodies aren't all mine since I'm holding a lot of corals for jhuynh until he gets his tank up and running again.

Did some stuff today. First, I put in the sump that Jeff gave me. Thanks again Jeff! Also, I installed a MP10 ES. This thing rocks!
I was planning to rearrange and mount corals today, but taking out the sump and cleaning the pumps was a PITA, so I was too tired to do anything else. Maybe next week I'll give it another shot.
Gonna put down what corals I have to make it easier to keep track

Yeah, can't wait til stuff starts turning purple. Checked cal/alk/mag yesterday. Cal ~ 425, Alk ~ 9, Mag ~ 1200. Need to continue raising mag, but once I start using the aquavitro salt, I shouldn't worry too much about it. I've just been doing guesswork on my dosing schedule since I don't test parameters often. I just "think" I should add more of this or that, and I know that I should dose Mag more, but haven't kept up with it since I've been in Modesto for most of the last 2 weeks.
I like it a lot. I forget what mode I have it on, but the sps seem to like it. And I like how the tank looks without the bulky k3's in front

I'm trying to build up my acan collection and always looking to buy more. It's hard to find rainbows in this area, and when I want to buy some online, I want to buy a lot to offset shipping costs. But then again, I don't want to spend another $200+ on acans
We'll see what happens next month, that's if I can make room in my tank...

i think i need to give this a bump...
here are some updates...
* built a new stand a few weeks ago. looks good so far. better than what I had before...
* got a 2nd 10mp es cause i needed some more flow for the front of the tank...
* had a bit of a cyano problem, nothing major. just had a few spots that had it...seems to be have stopped spreading since I'm not feeding a lot anymore and changed out the gfo and carbon in the brs reactor
* just found out last night that I scratched up the inside of my tank where the magnetic frag racks were. i guess there was some sand between the magnets and it made some major scratches when i moved the frag rack. so that really sucks!
I hope to have some pics sometime this week, but I've been busy with school and looking for a job...
