Picasso / Rodonyx FIRST BATCH OF EMBRYOS

Oh awsome job so far! I've been dieing for updates! thank you for my clown fry fix :)

Any updates on your other onyx breeding pair?

Do you see these babies having the short body like rods or do they appear to have longer bodies? from the pic it looks like they have longer bodies like the WC mother. I'm really interested to know if this is a dominate or recessive gene rod breeds.

had to cull 20 today :( sad thing. but its a must i guess. ill take updated pics after they settle in.
were they obviously deformed? or was it because of sickness?

i have about 300 left. its a reality of breeding lol all breeders have to do it. lol there is a reason why clowns lay 100 - 1200 larvae. most are not meant to become full grown clowns. im very selective in what i will raise and dev. i want to make sure body shape is PERFECT> that is my number one priority. so i will cull alot of clowns in the near future bec i only plan to keep maybe the top %5.

water quality, and just overall care of the babies is also a factor. genetics etc etc etc the list goes on. overall im happy but to only cull 20 at this poiint for percs im very happy about. time will tell if they resemble there parents. i definetly will have alot of onyx it seems. im just hoping for ones with odd patterns.

Wow. You are such an inspiration inspiration! How long were the pair in the tank before they bred? Whta are your water parameters? What are your tank mates? (corals included)

And how are the fry doing?

Thanks

First let me say what a great job you are doing, Huey.

What are you finding that is so imperfect? Although I really dont consider myself a true breeder, I have yet to cull a clown.

Also, what do you feed the parents? Sorry for all the questions.

FB, if you, like me, are interested in rearing clown fish, then please consider buying (if you haven't already) Joyce Wilkerson's "Clownfishes."

The perfect resource, imo, for any clownfish owner!
