Amazing tank. How do you keep your Alkalinity high?

The alkalinity is kept at 9. Not really high, but ideal for acans and softies as well as SPS. I use a calcium reactor GEO 818, and supplement weekly with baking soda as needed.

Very stunning Paul. I am seriously considering a hybrid tank and wanted to ask a couple of questions if I may.
Do you have any schematics as to the way the glass was attached to the acrylic? I undertand that there is not two layers (glass in front of acrylic etc - I read your picture frame analogy) and undertand it, but I am more curious to the actual details? Do you have any photos close up or in the build stage that would show this? Or better yet some sort of design document? I'd really appreciate any input you can offer.

its just a silicone gasket holding the glass to the acrylic and sealing it. Same as all of the fiberglass tanks you would see in a public aquarium. There really isnt any mystery to it at all.

Pictures do not show this since the acrylic is black and the silicone is black. Just looks like a black picture frame.

The main tank is shallow, just a few inches. The main sump (150g stock tank) has about 10 inch deep sand bed.

There is another sump with about 500lbs of LR in it as well.

for the most part, Thera A pellets, but i also feed sheets of nori and pe mysis, arcti pods and mysis feast from Reef Nutrition. The food from Reef Nutrition is great and my fish go crazy fort it.
