pics of my new 75

Just to answer your question to me a few posts back My wiring is all in its own section built into the stand.

I too run a filter sock - My tank isnt drilled so I have a hang on overflow coming down by gravity into the sump- I just work a sock on over the flow coming down from the tank that I change out when I do water changes - I keep 2 so one can be in use while I clean the other

Good idea about having two socks. I never thought of that. I will plan on that though. As for the fuge system comment by sytanek, this design was the one that I was also thinking about. I do agree with you that the fuge will have more time to work. Are you happy with your results?

I don't think I want to drill the tank, you cant tell from the pics, but it doesn't have a cross brace and really thick glass to make up for the lack of brace, plus this would be the first time I ever attempted drilling glass and wouldn't want to ruin all my hard work, as for the filter sock, its already really quit and because my refugium is so long and there really isn't a lot of flow through there, bubbles don't make it very far, actually I dont really see any bubbles making it through the bubble trap, plus I just added 2 more baffles, one to help with bubbles, the other so I could add more water to the return side, Ill try to get pictures ASAP

Sounds awesome AT!! I still think a filter sock is a good idea just because of all the extra filtration it provides. But that is just based on my experience.

Me and my wife share a spare filter sock. I agree a spare one is definately the way to go. The system has not been up that long, but it appears to be working effectively :) So yes.

Depends on how much crud you have in your tank....could be anywhere from once a week to once a month. At the beginning it will be more often, because of all the crud it has to remove.

Thanks I will look into getting a filter sock, I thought I was going to be cleaning them everyday and really didn't want to deal with that, but once a week isn't bad since I will be changing out water anyways.

Yeah and that is just at the beginning, I would say you will end up doing it every other week or so. Some people throw them in the washing machine (warning this could cause your machine to rust) some people soak them in bleach for a couple days then in distilled water for a couple of days.

Just what I have learned.

yeah I don't know if my parents would go for washing "fish stuff" in the washing machine, so ill probably be soaking it in bleach.

lol you make it sound like such a bad thing,you- "YOUR GETTING THE BUCKET!!!!".......the sock-"no not the bucket"...yes I realize I'm weird and I have mad my peace with that.

can you post locations for , Oceans Blue, Aqua Studio, The Fish Bowl? I think I'm going to try to get a filter sock this weekend.

lol, I dont think they had any in stock this week. I know reefworks doesnt have any in stock. Andy, from your location its a little ways to any of them.

To get to Reefworks you get on I4 at Lee Rd and go east 4 exits to Lake Mary.

To get to Fishy Business and The Fish Bowl (now called Oceans Direct), take I4 east to SR 434 and go east on 434, go about 10 miles, when you get to Ronald Reagan Blvd, you can make a right and go 2 blocks for Fishy Business, or Go Left and go 3 miles for the fish bowl.

To get to Seven Seas you go I-4 2 Exits Altamonte Springs and go west when you get to 434 make a right and its like 1 mile on the left side.

For Oceans Blue you go I4 West to Fairbanks and go east, Its in a shopping center on the left side about 5 miles down.

For Sea In the City, get on I4 West and go to the East West Xprswy (408). You want to go east. Get off at Crystal Lake Dr. You will make a right and go around the lake. Stay on Lake Underhill road. When you get to Gaston Foster make a right. Its ONE Block on the left side (hard to see).
