This is the Peacock Mantis Shrimp i got from a guy that was tearing apart his tank because he was moving to cali....thanks steve!! Woot!

right now its still in quarantine seeing if hes eating which he is. also gave him an astrea 2 days ago and was that cool to see him in action, other than that hes really mellow but very interactive when i come up to the tank.




here he is actually LOUNGING on his BACK lololol after eating a meal, what personality!! I have a pvc pipe in there which i coated with epoxy and then rolled in sand and rubble to make it look more aesthetically pleasing.

its about 5-6 inches tip to tip. pretty big in my opinion. i dont want to keep it too long in the qt, i want to transfer it over any day now.

hahaa, theres my mantis.. he looks awesome! im proud to have found him a good home. hes just a lil shy, before u know it u wont be able to control him lol

lol, use the term "him" loosely. i posted a thread n here a couple days ago. friday when i came home from work a saw it holding a clutch of eggs. atleast thats what i think the are, pink, small , round, and in a sack of mucus, almost look like clownfish eggs. it was holding them and twirling them around from time to time almost like aerating them..........

dang thats so wierd, so the peacock i gave u have eggs now? how can that be? it hasnt seen another mantis shrimp in over a year. quite interesting

well not any more. i guess it ate them. but it did have a clutch of eggs in its grasp for about 3 days. now there not there anymore, so im guessing they werent fertilized and it ate the, or the got sucked up in the filter.

i woudl love to have a brood of peacocks. that is a nice looking peacock.
