Thanks for the comments everyone. I can't wait to get everything off the sandbed and post up some new ones to show it the way it should be. Soon... very soon.
Looks great, Mel!
I see a clownfish in one of the pics; any other fishy friends in there?
Hiya Scott, There's actually two of those clowns and a male mandarin in there right now. I would like to add a Royal Gramma and a jawfish of some sort at some point. Just letting things settle a bit first.
Mel tank looks good. I like all the open spaces between the rocks and you just have them all stacked there? No epoxy, zipties or anything?
What are your plans going to be for your 180? Reef tank or shark tank
Thanks. They are just stacked. When it's all cleared up I'm going to try for a video to show the dimension of the rockwork. There's no epoxy, zipties or anything. I've done a "few" stacks over the past 10 years and only tried to use any of that stuff once. I just prefer finding the balance.

Plans for the 180g... still planning shark/non-reef-safe fish down the road but ya just never know... lol
Very nice Mel!!! Love the scape. I'm assuming this is the tank you drilled? If it is and you don't mind could you post pics of both the overflow and return? Also dimensions on the placement of both would be nice to? Sorry if I missed this in another post. Again love the rockwork.
I cant help notice all the reefers downsizing lately and/or getting away from basement sumps.I agree looks good .
Is this the same tank where you were drilling to add a pvc elbow to drain water ?
This tank already had the hole drilled in the side when I got it from Jeff so I didn't have to get it drilled. Walter (captain7359) had drilled the 125g for me last year but this time around I didn't need to have it done. The hole starts at about 8" in from the side and about 2" down from the very top of the black plastic trim.
Initial plan with the PVC elbow drain was to just screen over the top like Gary M's but as I was sitting here one day I started hearing the return pump suck air. Walked over and my rock 'nem was on top of it blocking the drain. I removed the screen from the top and instead put the gutter guard looking stuff on it. No blockage can happen now.
Here's some pics of the drain, lighting and return. The black plastic return part is a kit I grabbed from CF's parts section and just attached vinyl tubing between it and the return pump.
I think my favorite parts of this whole downsize were the restacking/placement of the rock and the building of the canopy. Glad I took a shop class in high school at one point. Using saws, a hammer and painting are very therapeutic.
