How much do these encrusted before take off? Is it just the amount of space available to encrust over or what? Say I had it on a little rock rubble all alone would it hat encrust then grow up? I ask because I have mine glued to a rather large rock and it has finally began to encrust. Will it attempt to cover the whole rock before growing branches?

Dooly- Nice shot! Do you do anything to the picture to make it look more like what it looks like in person or is that straight from the camera to the computer? I need to learn this stuff eventually....and also buy a macro lense.

love the way it has encrusted so befor the shoot up they have to encrust the base? or does it only seem that way?

ryshark, no I just used a top down photo box and a point and shoot camera will take some updated pics later this week, colony is at least size of a softball now

Top down box, that makes sense. Thanks.. I've been wanting to buy one of those. I will get one soon. Softball is good sized, see if you can get a whole colony shot. Mine is probably a little bigger than a baseball.
