Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad.

In the first picture, the thing that's circled up top might be a foraminiferan. (harmless) The algae circled below looks kind of like dictyota. The second, third, & fourth pictures all seem to be of some sort of macro algae as well. Perhaps caulerpa prolifera in the second and third pictures. Not sure about the fourth. HTH.

So my tank is a little over a month old. Today I found this white spot on my piece of live rock. It almost looks like a cocoon of sorts. Another thing I notices was several ( 6 or 8 ) small worms. They almost look like very small bristle worm. They move fast and appear lighter in color. If there's any questions I can answer to help the ID please ask away!! Thanks ahead, Bill.

Sorry for the bad pictures, but it's the best I can manage with the phone. Any ideas on this thing attached to the rock, or the worms?

Meh?

Meh?

So I have browsed a lot of this particular thread but didnt happen to see/remember any of these critters in there. Any help would be great.

001 -

Looks like a solid patch of cobwebs on my live rocks.

002 -

FSM? Spaghetti Worm?

003 -

Appears to be a snail with a small shell that only covers his lower back.

004 -

Maybe snail eggs? Little white circles on the glass that dont move. I accidentally scraped one off. Nothing inside.

005 -

Sorry for the poor picture. He only comes out at night and seems to have bored a hole in my Candy Cane... :-(

My guesses are 1) sponge, 2) spaghetti or hair worm, 3) stomatella - probably the most common ID on this board LOL, 4) Nerite snail egg, 5) can't tell.

Pic is too washed out to tell

Yep

Stomatella, they are gastropods and will reproduce in your tank (look for puffs of 'smoke', its them releasing sperm/eggs), very good hitchhiker.

too blurry, manual focus if you can

again, too blurry, if you cannot manual focus then try and describe it as best you can.

Can someone tell me what the bron growth is... How to get rid of it..not the corals but the brown and green growth that is choking the corals out

Try number two

Try number two

Here we go, got some better shots.

P.S. I've decided that my tank is full of nightmares when the lights go off..... :uhoh2:

006 - Little Bastard burrowing in my Candy Cane.

007 - Pest Anemone?

008 - Cobwebs of death? Living slime? I can try to get a few other shots but its very bizarre to me.

I tried to find theese white "worms" or "lines" or whatever in this thread...
I ve noticed them today on my corals and I can not recignise what they are...
Are theese things harmful to corals???
I had two STN issues in my corals this week and Iam wondering if theese white "lines" are the problem.

Here are a couple pics of a hitchhiker that came in one of the holes on some live rock. It came out during quarantine.

Not sure what it is? Should I want to put it in main tank? Will it sting me or my fish?

Any ideas/help is appreciated!

Ok. I am doing it from my phone and I don't have an app to draw on pictures so I picked up the rock and I believe this is a good picture
