This guy has been in my tank since I got it. I think its a bristle worm. Never seen him do any harm. Just noticed a second one the same size today and after looking around saw 4 tiny babies. Should I try to get rid of em or just leave em be? Thanks!

Help Please - mysterious orange strings

Help Please - mysterious orange strings

Hi everyone! What started out as me tolerating the hubby's new hobby, has turned into a contagious addiction...I am amazed by how beautiful and amusing the underwater world is. However, there is so much to learn! Reading all the support that exists in forums is almost as amazing to me; the generosity of everyone here to use their time and energy to help one another is awesome!

Anyway, the reason why I am posting:

In the attached pictures you'll see these orange string/hair/filaments? that are all over our tank. They are on the live rocks and sand (I only took pics of the ones in the sand, can't get a good enough macro shot to clearly show the ones on the rocks.)

We only just set-up this 90gal tank (we purchased the entire system, livestock included from another member earlier this week.) It was running bare bottom before and during the set-up we put in new sand. All the inhabitants seem to be doing okay...fish seem happy and the corals almost look better than when we had first seen them during inspection before the move.

So...what are these orange strings?? They're everywhere..if they are pests...what should we do about them?

Thanks in advanced!

Hey all! Newbie with reef aquarium and saltwater aquarium! Got some new live rock, covered in coralline algae of course but there was an odd purple patch and after a while it sprouted green things! Anybody have any idea?

A few of these came on my live rock when I bought them. Now it's spreading. Is it some kind of algae? Good or bad? Please help identifying. And the if here's a solution if it's bad. Thanks a bunch
