Ok, thanks snorvich.
I forgot to say I feed more, which is distracting the Tang, also having nori clipped permanently in the tank.

What about the miror trick. Does it really work or is it just a distraction only the time it is used and doesn't change anything when removed?

I guess putting the Tang in quarantine for a few days is also worthless...

Feeding more frequently is beneficial

I do not think there is long term value in doing this.

I guess putting the Tang in quarantine for a few days is also worthless...

Removal of the tang then reintroduction will have a positive effect if all else fails.

Ok, thanks for the info.
All this agressive side of the Yellow Tang is new to me (knew about PBlue tang, etc) after two years with it and much more in the hobby. I don't know where I was...
This is also the interesting side of it, never stop learning! :)
Thanks again and congrats for this excellent and usefull thread.

Hi there, I'm wanting to add some movement and colour to my tank.

It's 2 yrs old mixed reef, 90gal, 25 gal sump. Running GFO and carbon, Tunze 9006 skimmer, dsb in sump.
Current:
- 2 clowns
- Bi-colour blenny
- Firefish
- Yellow watchman

Possible additions:
- Blue-sided wrasse
- 2 anthias
- Kole tang or mock lemon peel tang
- maybe a Potter's angel?

Actually, on this thread, the only answer is from Reef Central Staff, in this case me. For a variety of reasons I do not do recommendations. In your sized tank, an angler would be interesting but that is all you really have room for.

I have a 29g reef, Fluval 405 canister, weekly water changes, good parameters, good CUC and one percula clown at this moment. Was wondering how the following would be for my tank in addition to my percula.

1 Banghai Cardinal
1 4 Line Wrasse

Hey again, well I was about to move to a different city for work and started selling fish. And then things fell apart and I am no longer moving. I sold a few of my angels and other fish. Hoping to get a similar stocking pattern going on with an sps heavy reef. I'm not married to any idea so if something doesn't work; so be it.

Here is what I currently have in my 135g with loads of rock work which include hiding spaces, tunnels, and caverns:

1 Hippo Tang
1 Radiant Wrasse
1 Lubbocks wrasse

I previously had 3 different angels (potters, flame, coral beauty) living together in harmony and hoping to get the same deal going again,

I'd be looking to add:

1 harlequin tusk (don't mind the breaking of certain sps branches)
1 lemonpeel angel
1 potters angel
1 flame angel

That would be it for the forseeable future until I upgrade in a year or two.

Thanks

1 Banghai Cardinal
1 4 Line Wrasse very aggressive; not recommended

1 Hippo Tang requires a much larger tank
1 Radiant Wrasse
1 Lubbocks wrasse

Except as noted, should be fine

one thing that stuck out was that you had 18 nassarius snails.... those do not really eat algae. they are carnivores. notice they only come out when you feed the fish. they are known also to eat the good stuff in your sand bed. I have 2 in my 125 because they look cool, but i notice my biodeversity in my sand bed should be better. there is an article from eric bournman about those snails.

Thanks for the reply, do you have an order of stocking recommendation?

I was thinking

Potters, lemonpeel, flame, then the harlequin tusk.

125G 60x18x24 AQUARIUM
55G SUMP W/ REF
160LBS LIVE ROCK
2.5" CRUSHED CORAL SUBSTRATE
8 WEEK OLD TANK

Currently have
2 Ocellaris clowns----small 1"
1 Yellow Tang----2.25"

want to add
yellow watchman or orange spot goby with a pistol shrimp
yellow eye kole tang or blue eye tang
2 or 3 blue reef chromis
and 2 or 3 of the following wrasses:
melanurus, blue sided fairy, carpenter flasher, dot and dash flasher, clown fairy, McCasker flasher, or exquisite fairy.

I'd like to know if this is too much, what order to add over the next few months, and which, if any, wrasses would be best to combine of the choices above. Also will the goby be ok since I do not have a fine sand sandbed.
I do not have any corals but would like to add some down the road 6 months or so.
Thanks.
