I currently have the following stock in my 90g tank
+ 35g sump (90lbs live rock):

2 clowns
3 bangaii cardinals

I want to add 1 foxface + 1 kole tang.

Will it work?

Thanks

3 bangaii cardinals will become two eventually if not sooner

55 Gallon stocking

55 Gallon stocking

I have a 55 gallon tank that has been established for 4 years but has been set up in my home for about a month with a skimmer, aqua-pure, filter, and soon to be sump. I have 6 snails, a scooter blenny, diamond goby, sand sifting starfish, skunk cleaner shrimp, 1 peppermint shrimp, and 2 ocellaris clownfish. I also have 2 BTA (clones), 1 longer tentacle anemone, zoanthids, mushrooms, and a leather.

Here is my wish list. Please let me know if my tank can accommodate them and if they'll get along.

* flame hawk fish (will it eat my shrimp?)
* Royal Gramma
* 6 line wrasse
* Copperband Butterfly (to eat glass anemones and feather dusters)

95 gallon wavefront

95 gallon wavefront

Currently have a 26 reef bowfront with pair of occ. Clowns, yellow clown goby, 2 firefish and royal gramma. added the firefish last and the clowns and especially the royal gramma will not let them out of their cave.

Upgrading to a 95 gallon wavefront (4ft wide) with two main live rock structures one stacked to the wall with hiding and the other a tower to allow more swimming room, lot's of coral, g2 skimmer and fuge. On to the fish... I also would like help on order of intro into the tank and time period, this is a loose list and how I'm planning to introduce them:

cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, green emeralds, hermits, snails and maybe an urchin.
2 Firefish (Dunno if they've paired or stayed together out of fear)
2 neon gobies (hopefully will pair)
Green or orange Clown goby
Yellow Clown goby
6 black bar or 4 blue green chromis
kole or hippo tang
foxface
pair banggai Cardinals
pair of clowns
royal gramma
Cherub or flame angel
mandarin dragonet(after established)

any suggestions on something to move the sand around? ben will probably be an inch.

I've tried to put together a list that will hopefully get along and not destroy my coral, but have a variety of color and types of fish with pairs, a schooling fish and a couple big guy. I know it's a lil on the heavy side.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

* flame hawk fish (will it eat my shrimp?) Almost certainly
* Royal Gramma
* 6 line wrasse very aggressive, not recommended
* Copperband Butterfly (to eat glass anemones and feather dusters) a difficult fish which may or may not eat pests you are trying to get rid of; in fact, may not eat at all

not surprising, they will most likely starve to death

as mentioned, will not likely survive; firefish MUST be paired and should be introduced first, always

2 neon gobies (hopefully will pair) if not, only one will survive; they do not like each other
Green or orange Clown goby
Yellow Clown goby
6 black bar or 4 blue green chromis will likely become two or one
kole or hippo tang the RC recommended tank size for a hepatus tang is 240 gallons
pair banggai Cardinals
pair of clowns
royal gramma
Cherub or flame angel not reef safe
mandarin dragonet(after established)

Thank you Steve for your reply.

Could you explain a bit more?

Is it a tank size issue or compatibility issue since both are grazers?

Grazers are reasonably "happy" (no fish are really happy, that is an anthropomorphic term) if they perceive they have sufficient food they do not become aggressive or start nipping corals. But if they do not, and two grazers will not in a 90 gallon tank, as they grow their perceived territory will shrink resulting in aggressive behavior.

Just starting out in saltwater, here is my plan.

75 gallon w/ live rock
20 gallon sump/refugium
Will have Protein Skimmer
Want it to be a reef with beginner corals

1 or 2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Royal Gamma
1 Midas Blenny
1 Longfin Fairy Wrasse or Flame Angelfish
1 Kole Yellow Eye Tang

2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
Lots of Snails

Probably want to add a Goby of some type too, not sure which kind. Or maybe even a Green Mandarin down the road. Would that work with this set up?

No problems but the mandarin would have a marginal time but probably it would be fine.

Starting another 29 gallon. No sump or fuge. 25 lbs LR. 40 lbs ls. Weekly 5 gallon water changes. Potential stock list:
1 clownfish (snowflake or Picasso)
1 flame angel
1 red firefish
1 six line wrasse
1 sand sifting Benny
1 cleaner shrimp

1 red firefish Introduce first
1 six line wrasse avoid, especially if you want the firefish
1 sand sifting Benny blennies do not sand sift that I know of, but a sand sifter in this size tank will deplete the sand bed then starve
1 cleaner shrimp

How about this

How about this

Hi everyone,

Ive been in the background for a while now reading many useful threads.
It now time for me to start up with my own reef tank.

the aquarium is a Juwel Vison 260. ( about 69 gallons)

I would like to have the following fished after a while ( i know that some are picky eaters but then again this is the final goal so I'll start with the easier first)
so here goes.
2x P. kauderni
2x A. ocellaris
2x Zebrasoma flavescens
2x Labroides dimidiatus or Stonogobiops nematodes or Nemateleotris decora Nemateleotris magnifica suggestions?
2x Pseudochromis porphyreus
2x Centropyge loricula ( flame angel)

so 12 fishes in total.

then I would also like to have:
2x Clibanarius Tricolor
2x L. amboinensis
5x some turbo snails
and some starfish

so please give me some input

"TANKS";)

50G Cube 24x24x20 reef

Current stock:
(2) Black & White clowns
(1) Melanurus Wrasse
(1) Aurora Goby
(1) Pistol Shrimp
(2) Harlequin Shrimp
(1) Barnacle Blenny

Can I add anything else or am I stacked?

Please Help

Please Help

I'm new to the salt water aquarium. Though it has been very therapeutic for me when I have it in my presence. I was in a really bad accident and have some loss of memory... but for some reason... these saltwater aquariums and along with the beauty of the fish and corals are amazingly stunning. I have a 90 gallon deep blue. I paid someone to come help me and he never showed up. He took my money and now I have to seek and take further action.

Basically what I have in it right now are some live rock..about 4 pieces and along with that some dead coral ... at one point it was all white.. but now has and is turning shades of brown. I don't know how good this may be or if it is harmful.

I am one month and a week exactly into cycling the tank. I have a total of eight damsels left out of sixteen in total that I started with. I loved it when the tank looked clean and white.. meaning the corals etc etc. I know I'm a little slow with all this but i need help.

I have grown to care for even the starter fish. My salinity is 1.020 at the moment. I have a RED SEA Marine care test kit. It has Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, pH and Alkalinity. I just need a little help here.. I don't know what levels are normal.

Basically I need help. A good friend of mine had recommended this site for me ... he used to have a 450g tank but he's out of the game now due to being full time busy. But I did hear everyone that does know about this site.. well.. they all speak and spoke very highly of it.

I thank you for taking the time to read and I hope to hear back very soon. Thank you so very much.
