Those that follow this thread know I do not provide recommendations. However a watchman goby with one or two pistol shrimp would work well. A ten gallon tank does not provide many options. In saltwater there is no rule of inches per gallon.

Thanks for the input Steve, I didn't know the inch per gallon rule didn't apply to saltwater. What is considered too crowded for a tank, how should it be determined? Thanks.

Hi.

Right now I have 45G Cube (24x24x18) and 20G L (as a frag tank) with one sump (CPR CY194). Cube has a AI Sol Blue LED, 20L 4x24 T5.
Total LR - 50lbs (Marco rocks) and 25-30lbs LS.
I have a 1 pair of Ocellaris Clownfish, 3x Blue Chromis, 1x Amblyeleotris randalli with pisto shrimp, 1x cleaner shrimp, 1x Peppermint shrimp.
I'd like to keep also Royal Gramma, Mandarin (Pterosynchiropus splendidus), maybe Firefish and Jawfish.
So what do you think about this setup?

Thanks

Hello:

I'm going to upgrade from a 14G BioCube to a 50G FOWLR tank soon and was wondering if you think these fish would all get along okay:

Sharknose Goby
Purple Firefish
Blue/Green Chromis (X3) will likely become one
Black and White Clownfish
Coral Beauty Angelfish

I think the only issue might be with the Chromis but I'm not sure so thanks in advance very much for your suggestions and advice! :beachbum:

I have a 260 reef and want to add several fish to work over the rock and spots of hair algae. Current fish are anthers, blennies, gobies and wrasses. Will definitely be getting a one spot rabbitfish. I would like a kole as well as a Zebrasoma or Acanthurus. A friend has a small kole. Would an Achilles work?

Yes, you can add tangs but be careful to quarantine properly. Order of introduction will be key. However, I do not know if they will help your hair algae problem.

a mandarin will starve. firefish must be introduced first. what kind of jawfish?

Thanks

I'm thinking about Jawfish, Yellowhead (Opistognathus aurifrons).
About Chromis - few months ago (like 2 or 3) I had 8 of them. They were fighting and left 3 (1 is bigger then other 2).

One will be the end result with the chromis. The yellowhead should be fine.

Thanks, Steve

Thanks, Steve

What if I did this mix instead:

Sharknose Goby
Purple Firefish
Blue/Green Chromis (X1)
Black and White Clownfish (X2)
Coral Beauty Angelfish

My 45 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump is 2 years old. The sump is filled with live rock and a skimmer and I have about 40 lbs of live rock in my display. I run carbon and I have a 5" sand bed. My livestock is a cleanup crew (variety of snails, blue legs and scarlets).
I have gorgonians, mushrooms and zoas
1 rock boring urchin
2 pencil urchins ( I have a VERY agressive macro algea)
false perc pair
green chromis pair
watchman goby pair
LTA

My question is can I add a midas blenny?

Thanks for the help :)

Yes, you should be fine.

I have a 75 gallon with 90lbs live rock and a 20 gallon sump. I have a red sea brittle star, two cleaner shrimp, one purple firefish, and a cuc currently in the tank. My original fish list was.

1 - purple firefish - currently in DT
1 - hi fin red banded goby
1 - tiger watchman goby
1 - bicolor blenny
2 - clownfish
1 - flame angel
1 - foxface lo
1 - yellow tang

My wife saw a red headed goby at the lfs today and wants me to get one. My question is can I add it to my list or do I need to substitute it for one already on my list?

Hello All, I have had freshwater tanks for my whole life but this is my first attempt at a saltwater tank! I have a 75 gallon tank with a 20 gallon long sump with about 90lbs live rock, a refugium with chaeto, gracillaris and a bit of live sand with a grow bulb over, IO protein skimmer, 2 1300gph wavemakers, 2 starfish about 1/4 inch long hitchhikers from the rock and a feather duster about 1/2 inch long from the rock. I would like to eventually add corals although I have done very little research on them so Im not sure what kinds quite yet.. I would like: 1 - Marine Betta 2 - Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish 1 - Flame Angel 1 - Royal Gramma Basslet 1 - Horseface Blenny 2 - Firefish 1 - Yellow Clown Goby Most of these guys stay relatively small minus the betta but do you think that would be too much? They would be introduced over a long period of time and if someone could give me an order of introduction that would be nice! I would also like to get a banded coral shrimp, some sexy anemone shirmp, various snails and hermit crabs, and a squamosa clam for a clean up crew Thanks!! - Kristine

Hi, I have a 215 gallon with 75 gallon sump that is cycling now. I have about 200 lbs of live rock and a G5 protein skimmer.
I'm making up a list of fish just from looking at sites like live aquaria.
So far I'm thinking about:
Bicolor angel
Flame angel
Pair of clowns (I really wanted 4 or 6 but I guess that's out)
Blue tang
Yellow or purple tang
Purple dotty back
Yellow tail damselfish
Spotted cardinal fish
Bangaii cardinal
Green mandarin
Spotted mandarin
Yellow watchman goby
Flame tail goby
African exquisite fairy wrasse
Porcupine puffer (I know it will eat my snails)
Schooling banner fish (I wanted a Moorish Idol but was discouraged by my dealer)
Niger triggerfish
Starry Blennie

Any creative ideas of things I should add?

I would skip this fish. Not only is it reclusive during the day but it can eat small fish

2 - Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish 1 - Flame Angel 1 - Royal Gramma Basslet 1 - Horseface Blenny 2 - Firefish

two will work only if a male plus female; introduce them early on as they need to establish themselves

1 - Yellow Clown Goby Most of these guys stay relatively small minus the betta but do you think that would be too much? They would be introduced over a long period of time and if someone could give me an order of introduction that would be nice! I would also like to get a banded coral shrimp

coral banded shrimp can take fish

, some sexy anemone shirmp, various snails and hermit crabs,

I personally recommend no hermit crabs but many different snail types; hermits kill snails for their shells

and a squamosa clam for a clean up crew Thanks!! - Kristine

Only two

Blue tang
Yellow or purple tang Must be last
Purple dotty back
Yellow tail damselfish
Spotted cardinal fish
Bangaii cardinal
Green mandarin mandarins must be added only to mature tanks and you must have different sexes if yo have two
Spotted mandarin
Yellow watchman goby
Flame tail goby
African exquisite fairy wrasse
Porcupine puffer (I know it will eat my snails) I recommend against this
Schooling banner fish (I wanted a Moorish Idol but was discouraged by my dealer)
Niger triggerfish I recommend against triggers as they can be very aggressive
Starry Blennie

Any creative ideas of things I should add?

No, it should do fine

So other than choosing between the foxface and tang, the way I have them listed will work for the order I will add them to the tank?

1 - purple firefish - currently in DT
1 - hi fin red banded goby
1 - tiger watchman goby
1 - red headed goby
1 - bicolor blenny
2 - clownfish
1 - flame angel
1 - foxface lo or yellow tang
