Live stock:

Cross Hatch trigger or a blue throat if I cant find a deal
Flame Hawk
Flame Angel not reef safe
4x anthias
green canary bleney
4x Blue reef chromis will winnow down to one or two; more importantly they have been coming in with some sort of health issue
2x yellow striped maroon clown fish highly aggressive
2x 3-Spot Domino Damselfish highly aggressive; avoid
2X Bicolor Dottyback highly aggressive; avoid
Magnificent Foxface too many grazers
Powder blue tang too many grazers
Powder brown tang too many grazers
Blonde naso tang needs a larger tank
Yellow belly regal blue tang needs a larger tank
Harlequin Tusk
Puffer of some sort can be aggressive
Maybe a couple of wrasses needs a covered top and depending on species, sand
SPS
LPS
Soft corals like leather
Zoas

Carpet anemone can eat fish
Long tentacle anemone

Basically you have too many fish and especially too many large fish in a tank that size

Hi! I, too, am still in the planning stages of my tank, though I currently keep fw planted tanks. I am planning a 6.6 gallon reef, with dimensions of 24x8x9. I will definitely be keeping soft corals, various inverts, and ideally would like a single specimen fish. However, if the dimensions of the tank are unsuitable, I am ok having a fish-less tank.
My top pick would be a banggai cardinal - my LFS employees insist it will be fine, but I am concerned my tank is too small.
Also considering a fire fish, or a randalls goby (do they have to be kept with a pistol shrimp?).

If i drop the following do you think I will be in the ball park then or do i need a redo
yellow belly and blonde tangs
the 4 chromis
flame angel
one each of the aggressive types

updated list:
2X Ocellaris Clownfish
Cross Hatch trigger or a blue throat if I cant find a deal
Flame Hawk
4x anthias
green canary bleney
4x Black Axil Chromis
3x Yellow tail damselfish
Purple Dottyback
Magnificent Foxface
Powder blue tang
Powder brown tang
Harlequin Tusk
Common Cleaner Wrasse
3X Filamented Flasher Wrasse
SPS
LPS
Soft corals like leather
Zoas

Carpet anemone
Long tentacle anemone

Very marginal for a cardinal.

While you are certainly under no obligation to take my advice, your tank will look packed with that many fish, some of which are large

I understand that but i ask for a reason and take your advise seriously. I will I am sure put my favorites in and see how it looks from there and if it looks full i wont add all the remainders.

i just wanted to know what my limit is and work from there. thanks for all the help and information. espescially items that arent compatible etc..

The problem I have with answering a question of this type is that "limits" are not quantitative as much as they are interactive behavioral. Unfortunately, that is an art rather than a science. The greater the number of animals in the same ecological niche, the more difficult assessment becomes and at times the more arbitrary the answer seems.

Fish and inverts I already have:
-3 x Blue/Green Chromis (been doing fine for two weeks) over time they are most likely going to reduce to one or at most two
-3 x 2" Turbo snails
-8 x 1/2 inch turbo snails
-6 x Hermit crabs
-1 x Tuxedo Urchin
-1 x Urchin (don't remember the name)

Fishes I want:
-2 x Percula
-2 x pistol Gobies (or goby that works with the shrimp) two shrimp and one goby will work unless you get a mated pair of gobies
-2 x pistol shrimp
-3 x blennie (for sand or algea dunno which kind yet) only one will work
-1 x Nem (haven't chosen yet either, it's in a while anyways)

Yeah Been reading up on the chromis. I changed the feeding from once to twice a day. I also added two extra types of food that I change everyday. I also give them pellets here and there when they start to nibble around the top of the tank. It's too bad really cause they are beautiful fish.

Only one blennie? Hrmm didn't know thanks! But ummm why?

Two shrimp and one goby huh? That works for me!

Thanks!

that is good but will not make a difference in the reduction to one; also chromis are not coming in healthy for reasons as yet undetermined

fish that inhabit the exact same ecological niche can rarely be kept more than one at a time unless the tank is much larger than yours

Steve thanks again for the help. I changed some fish around, how do these look(50g DT)?

Midas Blenny
Flame Hawk
Indigo dottyback
Black Cap basslet
Potters Angel (not sure about this one yet due to difficulty, would be last in though)
4 line wrasse(would it be too many fish? besides the fact it might be a pita)

Midas Blenny
Flame Hawk not shrimp safe, but a fascinating fish
Indigo dottyback highly aggressive, not sure who would win between this and the 4-line wrasse
Black Cap basslet
Potters Angel (not sure about this one yet due to difficulty, would be last in though) not reef safe, also one of the more difficult dwarf angels
4 line wrasse(would it be too many fish? besides the fact it might be a pita) highly aggressive, not sure who would win between this and the dottyback

Hi,
I have a 70 gal tank with 70# of rock and 60# of sand
Do you think my tank could handle
1 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Kole Tang
1 Flame Angel
1 Bangai Cardinal
1 Chromis
1 Yellow Clown Goby

I already have 5 Margarita snails, 5 Astrea snails.
I was thinking to add 1 fighting conch, and some Nassarius snails, and a Pepperment shrimp.
Do you think this set up would work?

Yes, it should be fine. Be sure to feed the Kole tang Nori on a clip.

[welcome]

Decided to go with two Helfrichi's gobies first so they can go into the tank first and get comfortable. They are in quarantine now.

I have a second tank (QT/hospital tank) that can receive fish as well. I will of course stagger the introduction of all the fishes into the DT so the the biolfilter has time to adapt.

I was looking at the Bartlet anthia and have read on several sites that they don't require as large of a tank as the other anthias, so could I do 2 or 3 of these? I know they will not school in the tank and that is not the expectation.

Thanks!
