Hi and thanks for your help.

Setup:
150g 60''long DT 120lb LR and about 2'' fine sand bed. About 25x turnover water movement.

20g sump 10g fuge w/ DSB and about 10# LR rubble. Reef Octopus 6 skimmer

Ultimately I would like to set up a mixed reef (mostly LPS and softies) Possibly also a Maxima Clam down the road.

Fish:
I am just finishing up my cycle now and want to start to add livestock. I was planning on starting with 2 Benggai Cardinals.

Followed by (slowly):

1 red or green mandarin. Possibly also a scooter Blenny but will this be too much pressure on the pod population?

Either a yellow, powder blue, or whitecheek tang (Are there any compatibility conflicts with my other tankmates?)

2 Ocellaris Clowns added together. Also eventually a bubble tip anemone for them to host.

1 Scott's Fairy wrasse (Cirrhilabrus scottorum)

1 White Banded Possum Wrasse (Wetmorella albofasciata)

1 Longnose Hawkfish (Oxycirrhites typus)

One Spot Foxface (Siganus unimaculatus) Will this eat corals?

Dwarf Angel (Are there any angels that wont eat my clam?)

Dwarf Lionfish (Looking for your throughts. Have heard conflicting advice)

Tankmates:
1 banded coral shrimp
1 cleaner shrimp
1 spiny blue lobster
Assorted snail CUC and a fighting conch

I think the bioload is a little high, but from reading thru this thread I imagine I wont get to keep all my requests haha :lol2:

Thanks for the guidance.

Ok my plans have changed based upon what has been available in the LFS's

This is what I have:
I have a 75g with 20L sump in which 1/3 of the sump is a refugium with a 4" sand bed with Chaeto. I have 85.5 lbs of now LR in the DT. Currently it is a FOWLR but I will be adding corals once the water is stable enough.

Is this list OK?:
(1) - Kole Tang - it is my showpiece, Great fish

The remaining occupants:
(2) - Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish
(2) - Kaudern's Cardinals
(1) - Skunk cleaner shrimp
(2) - small blue legged hermits
(1) - small cortez hermit
(1) - Large red legged hermit

I am looking to add a
(1) - Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse

at a later date
(1) YWG and a pistol shrimp

Your thoughts and comments on this list would be very appreciated.

Again, thanks in advance.

The remaining occupants:
(2) - Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish get very small ones or a proven bonded pair
(2) - Kaudern's Cardinals Be sure they are tank raised since wild caught rarely make it. Also, must be a male plus female pair

Dwarf Lionfish (Looking for your throughts. Have heard conflicting advice) they eat fish; I do not provide commentary on aggressive fish tanks although we have a forum for that where advice will be plentiful

Thanks for the help. The cardinals are tank raised. at this point i don't believe they are a pair but the are keeping to opposite ends of the tank. The Clowns I bought one smaller and one large one they are staying together at this point. not sure if they have "paired up".

Have a very happy holiday season. :)

Not a good sign; generally a non-bonded pair, or at least a same sex pair will not coexist, but you may get lucky

With clownfish, it is not uncommon for a sexually differentiated female to kill a potential male "if she does not like him" which is why the odds increase buying two very small ones. But you may get lucky!

Not to be a bother but you didnt comment on the dwarf angel. Does that mean it will be fine? I was thinking flame angel, but have heard this may pick at clams and corals?

What is your opinion of the Yellow Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus) in a reef tank with inverts and corals. it is not listed under reef safe but it is a carnivore.

Yes, they are not reef safe, especially towards meaty corals. I did not comment since the dwarf lionfish will eat it. As I mentioned, I do not comment on tanks with fish that will eat other fish.

Halichoeres family is not reef safe towards invertebrates, hence not "reef safe" a term that is probably over used.

I am completely new to saltwater. I am cycling a craigslist find of a 28 gal nanocube quad with 50 lbs live rock and live sand.
Want a pair of false perculas as my primary choice.
Want a goby that can do okay without a pistol shrimp. Please recommend.
Would really like one other fish, a possum wrasse? A chromis?

Intend to have only soft coral, snail clean up crew, a peppermint and a cleaner shrimp.
What do you think about a couple small hermits?
Thanks in advance.

Your stocking list is fine but I would avoid the chromis as they have been coming in sick recently. A possum wrasse would be superb. Any of the gobies will be fine; while I don't provide recommendations but will be happy to reanalyze whichever ones are of interest.

Hi, I am looking for feedback on my current stocking - looking over the list I think my tank is going to be over stocked, espcially when my Clowns reach sexual maturity. Would it be best to rehome a fish (cardinal) or would a sump help. Many thanks for any help.

RSM 130 (34 Gal)
Pair of Ocellaris Clownfish
Flame Hawkfish
Emperer Cardinal
Fire Goby

Well, your clowns will be more aggressive once sexually mature, but I do not see a problem because of the ecological niches of the other fish.

[welcome]

Lets see if anybody spots any problems.

36x24x16 Rimless mixed reef, aragonite bottom, lots of live rock (40-50lbs)

2 True Perc clowns
Dwarf angel coral beauty
Royal Gama Bassalet
Kole Yellow eye Tang
Six Line Wrasse

Ditching my snails
one emerald crab
10-15 blue leg hermits
peppermint shrimp
blood shrimp

Mostly LPS and softies, some SPS but not a bunch.

36x12x12 sump, wet dry filter with water flowing over filter floss.
reef octopus NWB110
eheim 1262 return
phosban 150 reactor x2 w/ anitphos and carbon

Standard 75 Gallon Tank:

Current Stock:
2 BW Ocellaris Clowns
Yellow Watchman Goby
Midas Blenny
2 Engineer Gobies( getting bigger, thinking of rehoming)
Mccosker Flasher wrasse
Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse

Would like to add a blue flasher wrasse, orangeback fairy, or red head solon to compliment the two flashers and be done with wrasses.

Royal Gramma, not sure if it would be too aggressive for the flashers?

Last addition Kole Tang.

Actually only Reef Central Staff answer this thread

Dwarf angel coral beauty not reef safe towards meaty LPS corals
Royal Gama Bassalet
Kole Yellow eye Tang 60 gallons is a bit small for even Ctenochaetus tangs
Six Line Wrasse very aggressive and may limit additions long term

Ditching my snails the hermits will take care of that for you :spin3:

Royal Gramma, not sure if it would be too aggressive for the flashers? they tend to "hang out" in a small territory so should not be a problem

Last addition Kole Tang.

be sure your tank is tightly covered as you have a lot of prolific jumpers and egg crate will not keep them in
