was thinking of adding either a Midas Blenny or a red head solon fairy wrasse

A Midas Blenny occupies the same ecological niche as the kole tang. In this sized tank, that might be an issue of aggression. C. solorensis would be fine.

Hi i am setting up a 125 gallon semi-aggressive reef. I am using live rock as the main filter and a 40 gallon sump will have a protein skimmer. I was wondering if i could house 1-maroon clownfish, 1-volitan lionfish, 1-picasso triggerfish, 1-Harlequin Tusk, and also a tang of sorts (maybe a yellow or powder blue). Thanks for the help.

The Volitan lionfish would eat any of the fish you mentioned. However, I do not do analysis of aggressive tanks.

A Volitan lionfish will try to eat any fish that is up to 3/4 of his size. Varying degrees of success will occur, sometimes killing both fish. Their mouth is highly expandable.

the chromis will become one or at most two, the yellow tangs in this sized tank will be world war IV; four tangs in this sized tank is a recipe for a big problem.

And how about the other fish in your two tanks that you are combining into this new one? I think you need to do more research, come up with a plan, then check back here. Without complete information, any answer I provide would be worthless to you.

Ok first off i'am merging a 40gallon FOWLR with a 30gallon reef in the reef is just a maroon clownfish and in the fish in the FOWLR will remain in there which it will be used as the sump. So the only fish in the 125gallon will be the maroon clown. There is 6 fish in the 40. I would like to have this as my stock: 1-maroon clownfish(maybe a pair in the future), 1-Harlequin Tusk, 1-Blue Tang, and 1-Yellow Tang. Thanks for all ur help.

Reef Central's recommendation for tank size for a hepatus tang is 240 gallons. One tang in a 125 gallon tank is best. A Harlequin tusk will eat small fish. A female maroon clownfish will be exceptionally aggressive and will preclude many other fish. In any case, I do not provide analysis on aggressive fish tanks so your best advice can be found in the aggressive fish forum rather than here.

An existing Genicanthus will not take kindly to addition of another Genicanthus. Sometimes you can add a male and female concurrently.

2. Dracula Niger Trigger can be either relative docile or a terror depending on the individual fish
3. Blue Throat Trigger
4. Purple Firefish
5. Flame Angel
6. Bluespot Jawfish does best long term with cooler temperatures since it is collected in the Sea of Cortez
7. 9-10 Lyretail Anthias resplendent or carberryi may work better, but in any case, get all females
8. Purple Tang
9. Sailfin Tang
10. Possible Chevron Tang
11. Leopard Wrasse-after some time due to newness of tank
12. Lineatus Wrasse fairy and flasher wrasses are prolific jumpers and require 1/4 inch holes not egg crate to keep them in

14. Sleeper Goby will create sand storms and likely starve to death after depleting your sand bed of beneficial organisms
15. Yellow Tang two zebrasoma tangs may be a problem
