would these get along in a group of 2 or 3 each in a 125 gallon tank

while most of the basslets would do ok in a group, mixing different basslet species can be problematic.

royal basslet gramma,
strawberry basslet,
diadema basslet,
yellow assessor basslet,
yellowtail blue damsel,
blue gudgeon goby

and are any of these the same breed just sold under different names they did have different pics

no, all are different species.

Steve,

I have a 75 reef tank that houses a pair of tomato clown fish that have been in the tank for about 2 months. I am looking to add a bristle tooth tang to the tank, but I am worried about the tomato's harassing the tang. Will there be issues? Should I remove the tomato's now vs. waiting it out to see what happens?

Hi,my name is Arieyonna. I was wondering is it hard to take care of tomato clown fish. I'm am from Mr.Rutherford's 3rd grade class, and we have a 160 gallon reef system.what i like about the tank is the pretty corals and pretty fish, but if i had to choose one type of coral /fish for fish it would be orchid dotty backs because, there bright and some are colorful. In coral's it is zoas and polyps .

so your recommendation would be to pick one of the basslet species and go with a group of less than 5 correct. Make sure you aquascape with caves, etc, since basslets like that in nature

could I also add clown fish, the damsel, and, the goby to that group and could I add fish later when these are adult

absolutely. Which clownfish species?

No, it is not difficult. In nature they like to reside in and around an anemone, so they would be happiest if you provided a similar environment for them in an aquarium.

The Orchid Dottyback, also known as the Fridman's Dottyback, or Fridman's Pseudochromis is an excellent addition to most reef tanks. They tend to like caves and rock work where they can hide but see all the action around them. This gorgeous red/lavender colored fish has a wonderful personality in the aquarium so I can see why it would be one of your favorites.

Since you have a 160 gallon aquarium, this fish will map out a territory within it and well also stake out a least one hiding place. However, once it is accustomed to the neighborhood, it will tend to swim in the open. It may occasionally chase smaller fish but will defend its hiding places from intruders even if they are larger. It will prey on small animals such as small mantis shrimp and bristleworms.

The diet consists of meaty foods including brine shrimp and prepared frozen foods such as frozen mysis shrimp; or you may raise brine shrimp in your classroom and feed them just after they are hatched.

Steve what kind of cleaner shrimp do you recommend? I was thinking about getting a single Skunk Shrimp. Any others? And what size would you recommend?

For the class tank I would also recommend a Royal Gramma or two as they are also very colourful and vibrant. Especially under the right spectrum of lights.

right now I have a case or two of cichlid stones that aren't being used as far which clown fish I don't know would it matter I could add fish when these become adult lets say that over the course of ten years they start dyeing of from old age I could add fry to the same tank or where would that line be

The space a pair of sexually mature clownfish will want to control is directly proportional to their adult size. As such, a sexually mature pair of Gold Stripe Maroon clowns will want to control about 50 gallons of tank space whereas a pair of A. ocellaris will want to control about 20-25 gallons of tank space. Once clownfish start mating, they are very aggressive.

so I could have a group of each 3 or 4 per group of

a basslet,
yellowtail blue damsel,
blue gudgeon goby
and a smaller clownfish

in that 125g tank

would a cleaner fish be a good idea would the eat the algae
