I am about to set up a 55g standard size with a 20 gallon+ Refugium/sump with plenty of live sand and live rock

I want to keep corals maybe LPS
Fish I am considering
1 flame angel not coral safe, larger tank advised
2 sleeper gold head gobies will starve quickly in this sized tank
1 kole yellow eye tang needs a larger tank
1 red mandarin once the tank is mature needs a larger tank without a lot of effort
2 firefish one will work, two will become one
1 small puffer not sure which variety depends on species
Emerald crabs
Some nassarius snails
Any advice would be much appreciated. I understand my tank is a little small for a tang but plan on getting a juvenile and will most likely set up a 180 gallon in the next year or so. wait until you get the larger tank, they are readily available. Most upgrades do not happen.

[welcome]

I don't think you can have most angels and puffers with corals. Some people may have luck but the majority do not.

I have a 90 gallon tank that just finished cycling. Here is my planned stocking list.

- 2 Ocellaris or Perc Clowns
- Royal Gramma Basslet
- Yellow Watchmen Goby/pistol shrimp (plan to get corals, any issues with this goby)
- Tang (Kole or Tomini)
- 2 Flasher Wrassle McCoskers or Carpenters (neither of these are pod eaters)
-Firefish (Dart fish)
- Flame Hawkfish (will this bother a pistol shrimp)?
- Ruby Red Dragonet or Green Mandarin (will wait at least 6 months to add)
- Clean up Crew - snails only, maybe some shrimp (But, I think the hawkfish would not allow me to do this)

My intent is to have fish that will be in all parts of the tank (top, middle, bottom). Do you feel that I am ok with the selection that I have?

New IM 20 gallon AIO.
2 ocellaris captive brd
Shrimp and goby pair
Standard CuC with a mix of crabs and snails
Have a jbj 54w unibody mostly looking to do zoa polyps maybe a bubble tip well down the road.

Thanks any feedback thoughts or input would be great.
Mike

- Tang (Kole or Tomini) either is fine, kole may be slightly more interesting

-Firefish (Dart fish)
- Flame Hawkfish (will this bother a pistol shrimp)? no
- Ruby Red Dragonet or Green Mandarin (will wait at least 6 months to add) wait 9 months and having copepod piles of live rock rubble will help
- Clean up Crew - snails only, maybe some shrimp (But, I think the hawkfish would not allow me to do this)

No problems, see annotations

should be fine. Be sure to quarantine the chromis as they are highly susceptible to uronema marinum. Of course, you should quarantine all fish, but that one is high risk.

48gal (35" long) reef with 18gal sump
Currently:
1 Pair of tank bred clarkii clowns
CUC hermits + snails

Want to get:
1 Firefish
1 Green or Yellow clown goby
1 Yellowtail Damsel
1 Redspotted hawkfish
+ Corals

Would it be possible to put in any more fish?

Thanks in advance

48gal (35" long) reef with 18gal sump
Currently:
1 Pair of tank bred clarkii clowns once mature, will be very aggressive and want to control all or most of this tank
CUC hermits + snails

Want to get:
1 Firefish
1 Green or Yellow clown goby
1 Yellowtail Damsel aggressive, may have issue with clownfish once they are mature
1 Redspotted hawkfish not shrimp safe
+ Corals

Would it be possible to put in any more fish? depending on behavior; the clownfish and/or damsel will limit introduction

Thanks in advance

The new 120 gallon tank (48x24x24) is still in build mode, but we're getting close to setup in final location, then cycling. The tank will be setup with LPS & Soft corals (moving current corals from a current nanoCube 28 setup, then adding more slowly). Setup will include sand bed, mix of live rock and base rock, there will be a 25 gallon sump w/ skimmer and refugium under the tank. Fuge area is roughly 8 gallons, will include sand, rubble & cheato.

Current nanoCube 28G setup has been running for over a year. It holds -

1 - Orange & White Ocellaris Clown
1 - Black & White Ocellaris Clown
1 - blue-green chromis
1 - Firefish
Various snails, blue leg hermit crabs & a pair of emerald crabs.

The intention is to add all of them to the new tank once cycled and ready.

Here's the WISH List for the new Tank -

1 - Kole Tang (or One Spot Foxface)
2 more Blue-green Chromis (will the current Chromis accept new, or should I trade in current Chromis and buy 3 same sized?)
1 - Purple Firefish (will current Firefish accept, or trade in, get 2 same sized?)
1 - Six Line Wrasse
1 - Diamond Watchman Goby
1 - Bartlett's Anthias
1 - Orchestriped Cardinalfish
1 - Royal Gramma Basslet
1 - Clown Goby (Citrinis)

After roughly 6 months with livestock I'd like to add a Bubble Tip Anenome

After roughly 12 months with livestock I'd like to add a pair of Blue Mandarin

1 - Six Line Wrasse aggressive; will limit tank mate choices

1 - Clown Goby (Citrinis)

After roughly 12 months with livestock I'd like to add a pair of Blue Mandarin definitely not with a six line wrasse; otherwise, one will work, two would be marginal

fine except as annotated
