What about this revised list?

Blue hippo tang (i really want this fish. Mine is 5 feet tank. Is this OK?) Reef Central recommends an 8 foot tank for a reason. When this fish grows, and it does grow fast, its territorial imperative increases and it will eliminate any perceived crowding in your tank.

1x watchman goby/shrimp
1x kole tang

with some snails, cleaner shrimp and maybe britle star.

if my list looks ok, in what order would be the best to introduce eache fish.

Trying to figure out what to do with my salt water tank...lost all of my fish to ick

In my 29 gal tank I have live rock, live sand, a sand sifting star fish, a hermit crab (which is about to be rehomed) and a long tentacle anemone.

My live rock has aptasia on it...they look like little trees...they are about an inch high...do i need to get rid of the aptasia before I add fish?

We are uncertain if we should keep the anemone...possibly getting rid of it which the thought of adding soft coral down the road...after we get our fish well established.

I am thinking of adding...

2 Ocellaris Clown Fish
1 Coral Beauty Angel
1 Mandarin Goby

If these fish would work then my next question is there a specific order to put them in the tank...all at once...two at a time...clowns first????

Well first, read the stickies I wrote in the Fish Disease forum. While I do not answer questions in this thread about cryptocaryon irritans, there are many folks, especially Mr.Tuskfish in that forum who will. A mandarin (which is a dragonet not a goby) needs a 75 gallon mature tank for long term sustainability.

Unquestionably. You can also look at possum wrasses.

You told me the list of fish I chose were fine since they were all small fish, for a 40 gal I was wondering if later on if I could add more to what I already have if I got a 40 gal tank or should I get a 50 gal if I want to add more. I was thinking of adding the reefs later but I keep seeing that a brittle star is not reef compatible. If so then I'd rather go with the Brittle star but here is my list. I've added just a bit to see if they would be compatible.

Hi,
Thank you in advance for your wisdom and help!

I have been letting my 120g fowler (I do have my coral in there for now) tank sit fallow with a tuxedo urchin and some snails since 5/1/2013, because of ich. All fish that survived (lost my Kole Tang) have been treated in my hospital tank and are in the 85g swimming free and happy since 5/31/2013. They are the only thing in that tank I did see 1 little green strand of who knows what on one of the rocks. I guess I will leave these fish in there. I plan to use my 85g for coral.

So, why I am writing. I am ready to begin my quarantine process with some new fish. Ideally, I would like 2 Spotbanded Butterflies, 1 Racoon Butterfly, and a Goldflake Angel. Other than that, I don't know. I know this may not be a reality, but I wanted to put it out there and see what the experts have to say. Maybe I can have a modified version of this.

while not the subject of this thread, please read the stickies in the Fish Disease forum. Make sure you have 9 weeks of the tank being fallow. I would need to know entire stocking list before answering compatibility questions. In general, those fish should work, however.

I am thinking about setting up a 120g and upgrading out of my current 100g. The tank will be a primarily SPS dominant tank with a few LPS pieces and some higher end zoas. I'll be running an appropriate skimmer, media reactors (carbon, gfo, bio-pellets and maybe calcium down the road). I'm still deciding which lighting to go with but I can wait. Just trying to get a good plan together so the tank isn't rushed like ones in the past.

So here's the fish stocking list I came up with. Please tell me what you think. As far as compatibility goes.

Reef Central's minimum tank size for tangs recommendation can be found here. As you can see, the minimum recommended tank size for each of your tangs is barely met. What that means long term is that no other tangs can be safely added.

Male&female bellus angelfish Getting a hardy male Genicanthus of any species is problematic and both male and female must be added concurrently for outcome to be successful.
5-7 Bartlett's (existing tank 1 male&1 female) or evansi anthia

While all anthias do best with multiple feedings per day, Evansi are rather picky and may be difficult to start eating. Nutramar ova would be preferred initially

Hawaiian flame wrasse pair Best chance would be two female flame wrasses of different size so one changes to male; males ship very poorly and have a low success rate
Laboutes wrasse
Radiant wrasse
Exquisite (vanuatu) or Scott's fairy (cook islands) wrasse C. scottorum tolerates other fairy wrasses poorly;
Blue Spot Jawfish and/or Midas blenny blue spot jawfish needs cooler temperatures for long term success. (72-75 F)

You will need a tank cover of 1/4 inch mesh as you have some prolific jumpers

Inverts:

I just started a 5gal saltwater tank. The tank is setup in my office. I'm new to saltwater tanks. I need suggestions on what's my next step? Is a 5gal tank even do-able for saltwater? If not what a good size tank to start with?
