Fish on order
1 Sailfin Tang
3 Yellow Tang
1 Tomini
1 Powder brown
2 Blue Tang
2 Moorish Idols

Yes sir the dimensions are in inches so yes the tank is 10 feet in length

Thanks for the clarification. Even in a ten foot tank, stocking primarily with tangs is tricky. Especially tricky is trying multiple tangs of the same species. I cannot give you a reading of whether or not this stocking list will be successful. I can tell you, however, that the three yellow tangs must be added concurrently. Both the yellows and the sailfin are very aggressive once established, so I suppose they must be added at the same time. Best chances are to get juveniles of all species and hope that in the long term, they can "sort it all out". Wish I could be more predictive . . .

After moving town I'm starting fresh with my tank and am thinking of a bit of a different stocking and just wanted to run it by your expertise first.

Tank will be a mixed reef with mainly LPS and a few inverts plus fish as follows :-

2x Ocellaris Clownfish (will be infant at purchase)
2x Spotted Cardinalfish
2x Yellowstriped Cardinalfish
1x One Spot Foxface (I'm aware these may nip corals, also a grazer) nipping is a function of being well fed; if they are hungry, they nip
1x Flame Angelfish (Also know for nipping corals plus a 2nd grazer, will be adding algae from fuge to tank to supplement)

these will nip even if not hungry

Inverts--
4x Peppermint shrimp
1x Blue Tuxedo Urchin

1x Ritteri Anemone (about 12 mths time)

Will also have some hammerhead, frogspawn, elegance corals in at some time as well.

Updated : Tank Details :- 120 gal display tank (49"x21"x30"), 45 gal sump (48"x15"x18"), Photon48 LED lights, UV steralizer (220gph pump feed), Aquaone Protein Skimmer G220, Jebao WP-40 wave maker and 660 gph return pump, chiller, Tunze ATO

Is the bio-load within check and will these inhabitants be able to co-exist? bioload is fine, and I provided commentary on potential issues
thanks
Jason

thanks again
Jason

Hey Steve,
Would it be possible to also add a pair of Banggai Cardinalfish to the above load? Also, about how many cardinalfish (at most) can be housed in a tank my size?
thanks again,
Jason

With Banggai, it must be tank raised, male plus female pair. Yes, you could add those

90 gallon (4 foot) tank
20 gallon sump

I already have:
3 pajama cardinals
2 ocellaris clownfish
2 pencil urchins
Coral banded shrimp
Snapping shrimp

I plan to get:
Bangaii cardinal
Royal gramma
Diamond goby (will this pair with the snapping shrimp?)

And introduced last and simultaneously:
Kole tang
One-spot foxface rabbitfish

90 gallon (4 foot) tank
20 gallon sump

I already have:
3 pajama cardinals
2 ocellaris clownfish
2 pencil urchins
Coral banded shrimp can take fish
Snapping shrimp species? Not all pistol shrimp are commensal with shrimp gobies

I plan to get:
Bangaii cardinal should be tank raised
Royal gramma
Diamond goby (will this pair with the snapping shrimp?) If the pistol shrimp is alpheus randall, it will find and pair with it but note that some e.g. alpheus soror (gorgeous) are not commensal

And introduced last and simultaneously:
Kole tang
One-spot foxface rabbitfish

This list should be fine

While I have read about mollies in a marine environment, I have no personal experience. As such I cannot advise.

Having read a lot of different people's experiences, ranging from acclimating them over 2 weeks to just dumping them in, I drip acclimated them for about two hours then put them in. They've been in there about 30 minutes now and they're already chowing down on the hair algae in my tank.

Thanks, but as this is not a discussion thread, I would like to keep this subject only about marine fish compatibility. I am sure that experiences with mollies would be interesting elsewhere on Reef Central.

10 gallon with 15 lbs of rock, primarily zoanthids, and no fish at the moment.
2x Green Banded Gobies (Elacatinus multifasciatum)
2x Red Headed Gobies (Elacatinus puncticulatus)
2x Tiger Gobies (Elacatinus macrodon)

Looking for suggestions. I have a 200 gallon tank with about 150 pounds of love rock, 3 inch sand bed and a mp40.

I'm looking to make a stocking list for my tank before I buy so I can put all the fish in a specific order. I currently have a mated pair of clowns in QT coming from my old tank.

I'm looking for peaceful community fish who are active and colorful.

Currently I want:
Fire fish
Anthius
Cardinal fish
Yasha goby
Manderin (In about a year)

All suggestions are much appreciated.

I'm looking for peaceful community fish who are active and colorful.

Currently I want:
Fire fish introduce early; prolific jumper
Anthius depends on species, some are difficult or require multiple feedings per day
Cardinal fish depends on species
Yasha goby
Manderin (In about a year)

All would be fine subject to notes. As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations or suggestions for a variety of reasons. I will happily reanalyze any stocking list for compatibility, however.l

All suggestions are much appreciated.

Hello,

See sig for current setup. I plan on doing this tank FOWLR for about a year and see how things go, then maybe upgrade lights etc to add some LPS. So that in mind I do want reef safe.

What I WANT:
2 Clownfish - LFS has tank bred Picasso and True perc mix that look COOL!
1 Goby - YWG or diamond
1 purple firefish or reg firefish
Too much? Can I get another?

Thanks in advance for the help!

2 Clownfish - LFS has tank bred Picasso and True perc mix that look COOL! both would be behaviorally similar and would be fine
1 Goby - YWG or diamond I would opt for the YWG but either is fine
1 purple firefish or reg firefish prolific jumper, tank must be tightly covered (not egg crate)
Too much? Can I get another? about right

Thanks in advance for the help!

3 indigo dotty back
4 brachiosaurus blenny
5 Banggai X 2
6 white tail bristletooth tang
7 McCosker's flasher wrasse
8 pearly jawfish
9 eventually a mandarin.
I'm thinking of replacing the dotty back with a royal gramma. Will it get along with the chalk bass?

I've changed again. Now thinking of 1 purple and 1 orange fire fish instead of the royal gramma. My kids like them more than the gramma. Wll they get along or should I stick with one?

Hello!

I currently have two oscellaris clowns in my 38 (1 orange and 1 black). I am planning on adding another fish in two and a half weeks. Here is my planned final stock list:

-2 ocellaris clowns
-1 yellow watchman goby
-1 royal gramma
-1 green chromis
-1 flame angel (possibly)

Aside from the flame angel, which I'm really not sold on yet, which fish should I add next, taking into consideration the temperament and bravery of these fish? Thank you!

flame angel last; otherwise any. However I would skip the chromis as they are often not healthy recently.

Wow, I was unaware of that, thank you! What has been going on with them?

Also, any recommendations on a replacement? A firefish perhaps?

chromis often have been coming in with uronema like symptoms. If you quarantine and are adept at treatment, it may be ok to go in this direction. However Chromis are damsels and tend to be aggressive.

In that case I will definitely overlook them. Thank you again. Any thought on a firefish instead?

Edit: Nevermind. Just read the gramma and firefish probably won't mesh well.
